Hi my name is Ivan Salladay and I recently left X for an algorithm that supports scientist!

I’m a PhD candidate at UCLA trying to understand what causes our innate immune system to decline with age.

I’m supervised by Anthony Covarrubias and I’m very excited to meet other aging experts on BluSky!

O wow that’s amazing. That makes sense. In that case I wonder what happens to senescent cells after processes like limb regeneration. Do the senescent cells get cleared or are there ques to return to normal.

Interesting! What if cancer cell lines just took 14 days to recover from the Irr? That would suggest they were responding to an inflammatory stress and never senescent?

Sorry I’m new to senescence and trying to figure out what is reliable and what is not!

How is senescence not irreversible?

Hello Sienna! Great paper do you happen to know if BCL proteins are up during general activation of microglia? I am wondering if microglia survive a DAMP signal also up-regulates BCL2.

Dr. Anthony Covarrubias has been awarded a $2M NIH grant to study the mechanisms of cellular senescence in macrophages to uncover how this process influences aging and contributes to conditions like cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. ➡️ bit.ly/3CzPGuP
