The BBC are really going out of their way to not call these The Peter Files.

NEWS: The Trump administration confirmed it bombed a girlโ€™s school in Iran.

It's one of the most devastating military errors in decades.

Trump lied about it. Pete Hegseth gutted the office preventing civilian casualties.

175 are dead. Most were kids. Hegseth should be fired.

An article โ€œMore than one million foreign nationals are receiving benefitsโ€
(March 17, 2025) referred to the number of โ€œforeign nationalsโ€ receiving
benefits, and gave the rate of benefit claims for various nationalities. In fact,
the particular DWP data on which the article was based recorded the
nationality of claimants when registering for a National Insurance number,
rather than the nationality at the time they were claiming benefits, so that
some claimants might have since acquired UK citizenship, and would not be
foreign nationals at the time they were claiming benefits. This correction has
been published following an upheld ruling by the Independent Press
Standards Organisation.

Fully *one year later*, the Telegraph has been forced (by @ipso.co.uk) to admit that it was lying about foreign nationals claiming benefits.

Cheshire Womenโ€™s Institute branch to close in solidarity with trans women A Cheshire Womenโ€™s Institute branch has announced it will close at the end of March after members voted overwhelmingly to suspend the group in protest at the national organisationโ€™s exclusion of trans...

So sad, and so unnecessary. We offered a legal indemnity, against all legal risks, to the leadership of Women's Institute, and Girlguiding, so they could continue to include all women.

Both declined.

4 frame comic. a street journalist is interviewing a tall light brown man with a pink scarf and a tshirt of the band Angine de Poitrine. off-frame, the journalist asks : sir! are you worried about
homophobic parents who
might want to trans their
child rather than have
an effeminate son?
the man replies :
wait wait wait wait wait.
are you implying that some
homophobes might not also
be raging transphobes?
Never heard of that.
trans kids are currently
being hunted down, outlawed,
marginalized from social life,
singled out in their own schools,
and you're asking me about some
hypothetical parent who might
pressure a child into being trans so
they might what? fit in better?
transitioning as a child in-
volves years of determination.
every adult in their life is likely
to cast doubt on who they are. if
they are lucky and have supportive
parents, their families are often
ostracized by their community.
the idea that someone sees the
hardships a family with a trans
child goes through and thinks "they
must have forced it on them"
makes me physically ill.

Same pattern in UK polling. YouGov's last big poll on trans issues also indexed respondents' views on other social prejudices, and what do you know - pro-trans respondents were much more likely to recognise misogyny and see it as a problem, anti-trans respondents more likely to dismiss it!

I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.

A trans person drawing on a statue with chalk got comment from the Home Secretary and coverage on TV and in all the main papers.

A female Green MP being harassed and abused in the street by transphobes gets nothing...

The reviews used to justify this excluded nearly 97% of all studies from inclusion in their analysis. This is an absolutely obscene hatchet job by the NHS specifically created to eliminate access to hormones for trans youth.

The third reason was having gender-critical men and women in the UK government, holding the positions that mattered most in Equalities and Health.
You only need to look at what the SNP did in Scotland to see what would have happened had we not intervened.
The Cass Review would **never** have been commissioned under a Labour govt. Labour did not want to know.
We had incredible opposition from the system on everything. It was when the ministers changed that everything changed.

โ€œBut after the Cass review, NHS England commissioned its own review of all the available clinical evidence. That review has now concluded and found the evidence did not back the continued use of the treatment for 16 and 17-year-oldsโ€ (Guardian today)

How the members of that โ€œreviewโ€ got there;

Whole cult of idiots spent the last 2 decades advising every party to abandon their principles and tell voters whatever (they think) they want to hear.

Now voters are flocking to parties who (rightly & wrongly) try to change peopleโ€™s minds and the idiots grab onto anything to avoid accepting that.

That bigots use a phrase to avoid recognising the existence of trans youth does not mean we should stop recognising the existence of other identities.

Trans/cis is no more a binary than man/ woman. This is *about* kids being able to question their gender and define themselves freely.

NHS weaponised my gay daughter
After refusing to undress in front of a trans doctor, the nurse at the centre of Britainโ€™s gender debate talks to Celia Walden about why sheโ€™s not giving up
The Sunday Telegraph8 Mar 2026Sandie Peggie

Sandie Peggie is telling me about JK Rowlingโ€™s 60th birthday party. โ€œI was so happy to be invited,โ€ she says of the lavish bash, which was reportedly held at the Harry Potter creatorโ€™s Perthshire estate in Scotland last November. โ€œActually, we were invited as a family, so I went with my husband and both my daughters. There were a lot of famous people there,โ€ she goes on, โ€œand my husband was a bit dumbstruck.โ€

The two women didnโ€™t get much of a chance to talk, which was to be expected. They had been in contact for some time prior to the party, however. โ€œShe really is a great figure. A very strong woman, and absolutely lovely. Her support has meant so much to me.โ€

If youโ€™re wondering what an NHS nurse from Kirkcaldy was doing at such a star-studded event, youโ€™ve presumably been trapped under something heavy for the past year. Right now, 52-year-old Peggie might well be Britainโ€™s most famous nurse.

Peggie is a heroine to some โ€“ Rowling included โ€“ for calling out the imposition of gender identity ideology in the workplace. To others, she is a โ€œbigoted transphobeโ€.
