wait, ACT is going after a different member of the public EVERY day? They're actually running a direct anti- free speech campaign *targeting* people for exercising their rights?

How have they not been taken apart over this??

Can we now *please* get racks on the front of Auckland buses? Not *inside* the buses, as was suggested a while back?

Free, fresh and locally made school lunches. Labour will bring them back.

Was plastic tokens by then, inside the bottles or letterbox. Flash places had mounts put on the front of their letterboxes.
Cream was a pain, juice was uncommon but quite good.

I was a milk trolley boy in Hillsborough, @ 14. Was a real bugger going up some hills, but the milkman would take the two of us (each side of the road) to the top of the steepest hills and we would coast / grind (with sparks) our way down. Was excellent fitness: four crates of milk at a time.

100% look like a gang and act like a gang, so must be treated like any other gang. Which also means losing any remaining charity protections.

Absolutely disgusting: a ‘meal’, designed to be rejected by ‘customers’ the ACT party do not want to have. Disgusting food, disgusting contract, disgusting party.

In London by the Tower, watching the most amazing fireworks display along the Thames. Long walk back to an open Underground station but was a fabulous night. Then got engaged. (Now divorced but still friends, and we produced some damn fine humans along the way.)

Muldoon’s bach was at Hatfield’s beach: over the hill from Orewa. It was the one relatable thing about him: Orewa was not prime real estate then, and Hatfields even less so.
But it was at a time when Omaha was eroding badly, destroying houses on the way 🤷‍♂️

'Worst since 1991': NZ in deep recession after massive GDP fall GDP data for the third quarter shows a wipeout.

Want to feel old?

The last time the NZ economy was so bad, the Soviet Union still existed, and so did Yugoslavia, Windows 3.1 was out but people were still sceptical that PCs would really take off, and this was the state of the art www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTWK... www.nzherald.co.nz/business/mas...

I refused to read it - I don’t want to give any eyeballs and click-through metrics to such rubbish. Hardly surprised by the headline though - idiots of a feather stick together.

Forecast surplus delayed two years, Willis vows earlier end to deficit Nicola Willis says the changed forecasts are a result of unwinding "overly optimistic assumptions", not Government policies or decisions.

NZ Finance Minister Nicola Willis expecting sympathy for appalling state of NZ Govt finances is like a person asking for sympathy for being an orphan, while they're on trial for killing their parents. 🙄

Puncturing the myth that Labour are poor economic managers: debt rose much higher under Key’s government than under Ardern’s, especially as % GDP. The economic impact of Covid was far worse than the GFC, requiring a bigger fiscal response. Austerity is a self-inflicted problem, and not the solution.

While Nicola Willis keeps gaslighting us about "Labour's borrowing" ...
The last government borrowed for infrastructure, and to keep people and businesses alive.
This government has borrowed for landlords interest rebate, tax cuts and tobacco tax cuts.
Ask yourself, which is the best use of money

Your hypothesis is presumably incomes => rents (for renters), so why show this relationship the other way round (which might hold for some landlords, but much less perfectly)?

The RBNZ lowered the OCR this week to 4.25%. It’s still too high so deep in a recession and need more deep cuts in 2025. Some thoughts here: www.linkedin.com/posts/eaqub_...
