This national headquarters building is strategically located between the Missouri Botanical Garden and Tower Grove Park. A beautifully articulated masonry garden wall separates the public space facing Magnolia from the garden within. Upon exiting to the north, visitors of the building will find themselves close to the Japanese Garden.

Plaster model for surrealist ceiling sculpture by Isamu Noguchi. Ceiling plane painted bright yellow. Portions project and scooped out are white. The forms are anthropomorphic and suggest an egg, microscopic cellular division, and a zygote. These forms fascinated Noguchi from his time in college studying biology toward becoming a doctor. These forms reappear in his work throughout his career.

Isamu Noguchi designed the Lunar Landscape as integral to the architecture of the interior of the building including built-in lighting & suspended sculptural elements. It’s the only intact architectural Noguchi lunar in extant.
