This is an excellent article. Democrats and progressives need to start taking public education seriously again and make it a core issue, rather than cede it to corporations and extremists.
Moderate Democrats with columns in newspapers are constantly saying the Democratic Party is way too liberal on "social" issues. Moderate Democratic voters in real life do not feel this way. With some polling data from @gelliottmorris.com and @dataforprogress.org. newrepublic.com/article/2074...

We need to get ST3 built as voters approved. We also need to find ways to build rail closer to European cost levels, as well as find more $$ to cover Trumpflation. Thanks to the folks at @theurbanist.org for letting me suggest some ways we can do that:
They are murdering civilians on the high seas.
They are murdering civilians in ๐ฎ๐ท.
They are murdering civilians in concentration camps.
They are murdering civilians on the streets of ๐บ๐ธ cities.
These are not problems that can be fixed with new laws or more court orders.

Thought I would have gotten used to it by now, but Iโm still grappling with the realization of just how stupid the men running this country are.

I think yes, there is a floor as long as Trump breathes. Unless Vance or Rubio do a public break with him.
After Trump, the deluge . . .
The real question I have, which I guess we're going to find out the answer to, is if there really is a 'floor,' a base of support that will not leave no matter what and how large is it.
With the key being if that floor is sufficient for him/MAGA to retain his stranglehold on the GOP.
Iranโs people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.

No one has better explained the transformation from conservativism to fascism under Trump. Or made the jump to answer the question: what we should do next now that conservatism is dead?
Brilliant by @polphilpod.bsky.social @liberalcurrents.comโit should be assigned in political theory classes
It could not be more obvious that the president does not care about US service members and in fact regards their deaths as mere political inconveniences. He has more sympathy for Putin than Americans who died because he decided to wage illegal war. Just listen to him.

Long overdue. The plaque honoring the officers who defended the Capitol on January 6 was installed albeit with no moment to publicly recognize the courage of those who risked their lives to protect our democracy.
Honoring them shouldn't be controversial.

A completely 2nd tier division, barely, want to be MMA'er. Like the worst one you could be perhaps.
Some thoughts from December that feel newly relevant considering that Markwayne Mullin, former MMA fighter, is Trumpโs pick to run DHS
