We’re happy to welcome Anouk Sénard to our lab as a PhD student! Her PhD is funded by the Ligue contre le cancer and the Région Bretagne, many thanks for their support. Her research focuses on the mitotic roles of DCLK1, a protein involved in cancer stemness, aggressiveness and therapy resistance.
Building reproducible systems across labs is possible, even in large-scale neuroscience. You just need rigor, collaboration and the willingness to look your own practices in the eye, writes Anne Churchland.

The topic “Mechanism of polar flow of kinetochore microtubules and consequences for chromosome segregation”, directed by Jacques Pecreaux, will approach cell division robustness using the nematode model organism.
The topic "Study of the deregulation of DCLK1 isoform expression in cancers, in particular its effects on cell division and microtubule rigidity”, directed by Hélène Bouvrais, will approach cell division robustness using cells in culture.
We are looking for two cell biology PhD students open to interdisciplinary approaches to focus on the robustness of cell division. These offers are part of the doctoral competition of the Institut génétique et développement de Rennes (IGDR).
