Hi
Hi
β€οΈ
Hi all ! Happy holidays butterflies!π¦
Me too !
This ! Heβs done this before .
Heβs done ! He needs to go !
Youβre getting primaried.
He doesn't need to be a yes so long as enough others do it for him. He's done this shit before: organizing a capitulation then voting no once he knows it's going to pass.
I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.
We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trumpβs $40 billion bailout for Argentina.
A vote for this bill is a mistake.
His career is over
i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
I guess the phone calls worked on Schumer . Heβs a no. I still want him gone.
I mean keep terrifying them until they are in cspan voting, y'all
I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.
This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.
Trust them only as far as you can throw them.
New: Sens. King, Shaheen, Hassan led negotiations on a deal that will have enough Democratic support to pass in the Senate, I'm told. This is the package: - CR thru Jan 30 - A vote on a ACA bill by a December, on a DEM bill - Minibus WHICH INCLUDES reversal of shutdown RIFs and back pay and protections against them happening in the future PLUS SNAP is funded through the fiscal year 26
Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
Democrats would do well to remember that trusting a party defined by deceit and bad faith isnβt just naΓ―ve, itβs dangerous to democracy itself.
βI think itβs a terrible mistake,β Sen. Elizabeth Warren says of the deal. βPeople want us to stand and fight for health care, and that's what I believe.β (via Igor Bobic, HuffPo) x.com/igorbobic/st...
I told my Senators that the message Senate Dems are sending is that if we vote for Democrats resoundingly in an election, theyβll promptly fold.
Is this what they want us to take from this?
If I lived in Virginia, the second that Spanberger is sworn in as governor, I'd be demanding @kaine.senate.gov's resignation so she could replace him with someone who's actually aware of what is going on.
This is not a deal β it's an empty promise.
Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.
Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...
Iβve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.
Iβm prepared to work toward a compromise, but this βdealβ before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.
Full statement:
To my other #Virginia people - who do we want in the Senate? Clearly we were snookered with our 2024 votes.
Do [news] media types think theyβll literally die if they donβt blame everything on Democrats? And is that why current leadership always caves?
Like what the fuck are we even doing here.
The Democrats who caved just taught Republicans that using mass starvation as a weapon works.
Think we have to add the Senate Democrats to the list of elite institutions whose members have failed in this moment.
We have as much leverage as weβve ever had β and Chuck Schumer is on the brink of taking a deal that gives Democrats NOTHING.
Iβm glad Hakeem Jeffries will fight this in the House, but it should not get that far. Senate Dems must not cave.
