Of the lesser known bands I'm playing this evening, Jejune might be my favorite. "Regrets Are Unanswered Dreams" is a legit fantastic song. How did that not dominate the airwaves in the 90s?

Xennial Music - only on @wapjradio.bsky.social
www.wapj.org
Starting off with some huge hits by Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Band of Skulls, and more before we start dipping our toes into a few deep-dive bands.
Xennial Music - 1990s music & 2000s music - is going live on WAPJ in about 20 minutes! Catch it at 89.9 & 105.1 FM in CT, or stream it live at www.wapj.org or through any radio-playing app (e.g., TuneIn).
REALLY cool setlist tonight - lots of great tunes you've not heard in a long, LONG time!
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. Itβs dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
Stay free
Like, no joke, I'm saving every song or two so that I can play it on a future Xennial Music program.
My favorite music so far? Jejune. How did they not make it huge in the 90's? Maybe a lot of folks knew them, but I sure never heard them before.
Look 'em up, play their tunes, and enjoy: JEJUNE!
I've not listened to the @numerogroup.bsky.social playlist in a LONG time and I have no idea why: they "rediscover" so much music that deserves to be heard, played, sung.
I am absolutely over the moon listening to their most recent playlist.
Ugh, just wrapped up trying to learn a couple Grateful Dead tunes, set my guitar down, and got a text about Bob Weir. A gut punch. So, so sad to learn of his passing.
RIP Bob for all of the joy you brought into so many lives including my own.
I keep forgetting to post this: the playlist from last night's Xennial Music: Music of 90s & 00s only on @wapjradio.bsky.social

They were really, really good - should have mentioned it to you when I saw you last week. The whole family went and we loved these guys & Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears. SUCH a good performance by both. I'd go again if they were playing there tonight!
Daryl's House - terrific, intimate venue to see a show!

Went to a GA-20 and Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears concert last night at Daryl's House in Pawling, NY. WOW.
Joe & his band blew the roof off the place and GA-20 was absolutely on fire. They are live in Brooklyn tonight - DO NOT MISS THE SHOW if you're in the neighborhood.
I went and jinxed myself - very bummed to say that I can't do the show tonight due to a family thing so I'll be spinning the cover songs of the 90s & 00s Xennial Music edition next week instead.
Should be back with Xennial Music: Music of the 1990s & 2000s tomorrow evening on @wapjradio.bsky.social .
Fun episode planned: every song is a cover done in the 90s & 00s. Most of them you'll recognize immediately, a couple might be a surprise.
Tune in: 89.9 & 105.1 FM, stream live www.wapj.org

Starting off tonight with some hip hop but then move quickly into some pop, alternative, then some punk. A real mix of 90s & 00s music tonight. Material & artists I've not often played on Xennial Music: Tad, Gruntruck, Pennywise coming up, Lower Class Brats, and a whole lot more.

Cool program this evening. I loaded the playlist with some blues & funk from the 90s & 00s - I love these artists. I'm talking The Heavy, Orgone, The Poets of Rhythm...
Great stuff - if you don't know it, you're in for a treat. If you do know it, come along for the ride!

So much fun playing mostly a folksier list of 90s & 00s music than I ever play. Will post the playlist link tomorrow.
My time off over the past few weeks gave me the opportunity to create the next few weeks of playlists - great Xennial Music shows coming up on @wapjradio.bsky.social !
Thanks again for your recommendation to play Idiot Stare on my 90s&00s community radio show, @jesusjonesband.bsky.social. Was on the playlist this evening!
Starting off with some Derek Trucks Band, Jayhawks, and Wilco. Tonight's playlist is a sampling of different genres of the 90s & 00s, so stick around!
