Shows reduction in schizophrenia-spectrum diagnosis rates in ages 21-50, increase in incidence rate in age 14-21 years primarily due to rates of psychotic disorder not otherwise specified diagnosis
tldr: in past 25 years annual incidence of psychotic disorders increased by 60% in 14-20 year olds, in Ontario🇨🇦; rates stable or lower among 21 to 50 y/o

tldr: adolescents who ever reported PLEs, but hadn't recently experienced them ("Pre-PLEs" in figure) had elevated risk of mental health conditions. Those with current PLEs had the highest risk for psychotic disorders and non-PDs.
In line with other work supporting screening and early intervention
Our latest paper about teen #cannabis use and brain maturation. In a longitudinal cohort (MRI at 13, 15, and 17 years old) we found that cortex was thinner-than-expected during years when teens escalated their cannabis use.
