With payrolls 10 times MLS, I sure hope they dogwalk as you call it.

I agree, should be focusing on this tournament. They went and added the league cup, which just divides the attention.
You are right. There just isn't any history with this tournament. It just doesn't register for most fans.
What do you think Miami's revenue will be once Messi retires? Bet it will automatically be cut in half. They will struggle to fill half of their new stadium. Just look at the history of every sports team in Miami. There is no other Messi out there to replace this one.
Interesting! What made you decide to come live in B.C. Being that you are a football writer, this isn't necessarily the Mecca of the game. Next to the rest of North America, B.C. has a high football I.Q. When you compare it to Europe, we fall far behind.
I thought you're from Germany. Were you from somewhere else originally?
The correct term is apples to oranges. I will forgive you as English isn't your first language.
If they knew he was injured I doubt they would have played him. Wasn't his injury something totally different from what ailed him in the previous game. I'm sure if Davies was playing for Gemany, Bayern wouldn't have said anything about the injury.
Nobody can predict when an injury will happen. You can't blame a club for playing a player when the player and doc's say he's good to go. That is why Bayern threatening to sue Canada soccer was so ridiculous.
Did you wear your lucky hat in Portland?
I guess it's official then. If TSN says it, it must be.
@rjhenderson7.bsky.social why do I keep hearing a popping sound on the broadcasts? Is it something to do with the microphones? It is getting a little annoying. Not to the point I'll stop watching, just a little irritating.
I feel for the Montreal fans. Great supporters who deserve so much more. Watched that game against Chicago. Boy Montreal is a mess. Don't see how they improve. Will need major overhaul.
As of right now, don't think they will get to use the grass pitch. There is talk that if they go through Champions cup, they might be able to play a cup game there.
Worked out pretty good for Caps when they had to move their playoff game to Providence.
Wonder why they are shutting Luman down so much sooner than BC place?
@aftn.bsky.social just saw that the Caps match against Seattle has been moved to Spokane. Apparently there's an RV show at Lumen that weekend. Is Garber going to hold a press conference proclaiming that this is unacceptable and the future of the Sounders at Luman field is not attainable?
Was the scoreboard replaced? Looked very bright last night. The turf looked great on screen, then you would look down at reality. God that turf has to be the worst in professional sports!
Game 3, 87 Canada Cup. Canada wins 6 to 5 on last second goal from Mario. If I remember correctly, Russia was up 3-0 early in the game. That match had everything.
Never should have gotten to that.
Cities being blackmailed by billionaire sports team owners. This is what modern day sports has turned into. For a country that prides itself on capitalism. There is nothing more socialist then tax payers having to cough up to build new stadiums. The bubble will eventually burst.
Someone who needs to learn the phase, quit while you're ahead.
If Canada soccer can fix their financial problems, there's hope for the Whitecaps.
LOL!
Vancouver will be the most fan friendly stadium for tourists. It's walking distance from two train stations. Most hotels and restaurants all in walking distance.
Bruce Springsteen never would have done that. What was Marky Mark too busy?
This is why you should never negotiate through the media. Things always get misconstrued. At least now everyone seems to be on the same page. Looks like Caps need business community to step up.
Caps ownership wanted to build the stadium with their own land and money. It was basically Port of Vancouver which is run by federal government, that basically shut that down.
How in the hell was that not a penalty? Var is a load of crap!
Again this is on ownership. Axel is a football guy, not a business guy. All the Whitecaps owners got here by being smart business men. It's up to them to reach out to business community.
