Thank you very much!
I’ve bought another copy of this magnificent book by @kevparr.bsky.social. This time it’s for my old man for Father’s Day. An amazing book about nature, wildlife, the countryside and more. And one benefit of having a crap memory like me is I can read it again and still enjoy it like the first time!
The house martins arrived this spring to find no mud to build their nests.
So I’ve been topping up their favourite puddle for the last month.
They know what’s coming now - I step away and in they come….
The first time I have witnessed blackbird courtship.
Amazing sight and sound - shame I only recorded a few seconds (and garbled over the top of it).
Sound up for the first willow warbler of my spring…
The Countryfile Magazine Plodcast - my audio baby - has been shortlisted for the Publishers Podcast Awards. Some very tough competition here but just reaching the 'final' is really happy news for me and the Plodcast team. Including the wondrous @kevparr.bsky.social
Crap video - don’t care.
First swallow of my year….!
Oil beetle enjoying the sunshine!
One of last year’s baby adders enjoying the sun after a successful hibernation.
It was improbably small - could have coiled up on a 10p piece!
Gratuitous video clip of the Wheatear from East Cliffs just now.
Think this is our second earliest ever Wheatear
Gosh! Thank you so much.
That has absolutely made my Monday!
Gosh. Days like today are so important. That sun had some warmth and the birds responded.
Buzzards jostling with peregrines, the float of a kite, and corn buntings and linnets in the top of the ash tree.
All enjoyed from the sofa!
The finest song of them all….
Fieldfare and starlings streamlining themselves against the wind….
That is quite the morning sky….
Happy New Year everyone.
Hope it’s full of luck, love and lovely things.
Amazing fishing!
Thank you! Bit of a fluke if I’m honest…
A milky sun dipping into Storm Darragh….
Hold tight everyone!
We’ve not seen much snow in Dorset in recent winters, so these past couple of days have been a treat.
Just as well the fridge was full and the logs were in, of course…
The best roads have plants growing down the middle…
