So much good stuff! I was looking forward to a bit of a break, but opportunities to talk about nuclear energy (my favorite!) just keep coming.
Let me know if YOU want to chat. βοΈβ₯οΈ
EVERYONE needs to build more nuclear than the US has built in the last 30 years.
Someoneβs gotta lead this. Go Kath! β₯οΈπͺπΌβοΈβ‘οΈ
Charge cars with nuclear. Power grid with nuclear. Maybe EVs can offer a bit of flex, but they shouldnβt be the source.
Iβm so proud (thankful! β₯οΈπ¦!) to know @lenkakollar.bsky.social from her early work supporting advanced nuclear and SMRs, and now fusion! Itβs an exciting future.
I have a hard time getting excited just because weβre adding the word nuclear.
War is bad. And itβs so so prevalent right now. Letβs focus on fixing the attitudes that cause these conflicts. And the resources that drive countries to compete.
Nuclear (energy!) might actually be the answer.
I still remember when my daughter ran from the back of the conference room and jumped into my arms as I was testifying to @gavinnewsom.bsky.social in 2016 on why we should keep running Diablo Canyon.
It was true then, still true now. I do this for our children.
Here we go!!! After today, one more chance to join us for a webinar on storage of used nuclear fuel, Tues 10/28 7pm EST.
People ask βWhat about the waste?!β as more of a statement and a way to protest nuclear. Well, letβs figure it out. Come join us! βοΈπ©·πͺπΌ

Perhaps that wasnβt quite your angle, but I react when people who claim to care about climate (including Bill McKibbon) leave nuclear out of the conversation completely.
We need more of all clean energy, but nuclear is our best hope at actually ending fossil fuels.
Yeah, I watched 3-Body problem. Solar panels are like insects. But that doesnβt mean that we actually want to be like insects, thatβs not a good life. We want a life thatβs powered by reliable energy, and infrastructure that is flexible and varied enough to withstand more extreme weather.
Either way, we want to hear what you think about the idea - both the content and the delivery mechanism. Weβll give it three tries, so pick one, or come to all!
Now though, with two years of practice under our belts, weβre going to make an attempt to go online.
Come join us, should be a good time. I believe weβll have real-time Q&A running even during presentations, which will make to more fun and engaging.
Hope you can come chat with us. Our original plan was to do this all online and boost to huge audiences through Dr Robert Hayesβ viral TikTok, but we quickly realized that much nuance is required in these discussions and being in person with our audiences is truly best.
When we realized Oregon was taking steps to repeal their moratorium against nuclear energy, I emailed every OR contact from our email list. Holy cow, Nikole jumped right in and started organizing grassroots support. She has a great story, and Iβm so happy to know her!
I love talking about nuclear energy! Let me know if YOU want to chat!
What exactly do you think saying βstopβ is going to do. They will not stop. People donβt stop using energy.
Replace it with something better. Itβs our only hope. Go nuclear.

Iβll have to go back and find pictures of the first time I met Madi. There was definitely bonding and crying involved. When we both started advocating for nuclear, it was NOT a popular thing to do. Thank goodness for these other strong amazing women in our movement, and more joining all the time! β₯οΈβοΈ
You can also check out the Age of Miracles podcast- I learned a ton!

We had a great time here and lots of really impactful discussions. Hope you come join us soon at another upcoming workshop!
@jklay.bsky.social check this out! πͺπΌπ§±
Speaking of greenwashing
Now I just found in my @mothersfornuclear.bsky.social notes from years ago- people telling me to read your article because thatβs what we had to figure out regarding nuclear.
Weβre good over here!
This is a great way to get a sense of the book if you donβt have time to read it quite yet.
Listen on your way to work! Perhaps at a nuclear power plantβ¦. π€©βοΈ
These actions are importantly for our clean energy future.
I know many people may be disappointed at cutbacks to renewables. My advice: REDIRECT!!
Fossil to nuclear transition is a win win!! πͺπΌβ₯οΈππ±

This is apparently one of the things that has been removed from the DOE website recentlyβ¦
Do you want to chat about this?
I can see why you might have this perspective. Yet, I also believe that nuclear is absolutely our best hope for a clean energy future, so we better figure out how to make this happen.
Sometimes bills are just a signal.
Sounds like someone knows their Pathways to Commercial Liftoff report data.... ;-)
