MCJC joined 100s of Jews at ICE headquarters to protest its inhumane practices. We weren't quiet about the connections between repression and occupation in the US and Palestine; a message (almost uniformly) warmly received by other attendees. Credit to @rabbis4ceasefire.bsky.social for the sign.

4. We shared with MCEA leadership that positions such as supporting ending funding for the Maryland Israel Development Corporation are not anti Semitic. MCEA members are pushing to end the union’s endorsement of Josie Caballero over her views on Israel/Palestine.
3. We also sent a letter to Gaithersburg Mayor Jud Ashman condemning his attempts to censor pro-Palestinian speech in the city’s parades.
2. We filed an ethics complaint to the Maryland General Assembly after State Sen. Ben Kramer attacked our group and expressed anti Arab and Islamophobic sentiments on official letterhead.
