I wish we had only publicly funded elections with a MAX 3-month campaign period with ranked choice voting. This race without those things is driving me insane.

Instead of ignoring the other progressives in the race, I would love for Kat to explicitly say why I should vote for her over say, Mike Simmons. And I mean say something other than “because I have a better shot at winning.” That’s not a convincing argument for me.

Like sorry, I’m fucking voting for Robin Kelly because I have loved ones that were persecuted by the state of IL for standing against ICE and I cannot in good conscience support someone who was in a position of power to do something about it and did/said nothing.

I’m so over the “electability” scolding in the IL primaries. I love how we disregard the point of a primary every time. I’m not playing games and bending over backwards to try and vote for those I think everyone else is gonna vote for. What is the point in that.
