Getting a full dose of Schoenberg's music today, from David Atherton's superb 1974 recordings with London Sinfonietta. Some of the works sound almost quaint these days, and their influence was enormous. It just took a long time.

When you have tired of listening to the "Rite of Spring," these small scale works have always had an appeal for me. The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra does a splendid job with all of them here, especially the "Octet," and "Scherzo Γ la Russe." They are all interesting pieces.
The Senate must do our job and ensure there is public debate and accountability for this war.

The Trump doctrine in Iran: kill as many Iranians as possible, destroy as many bases as possible, destroy as many missile sites as possible, and then hope for the best. Right, good plan.
On another subject, this recording of the Kurt Weill symphonies is, to my mind, superior to other more recent offerings. Includes the suite from 'Zaubernacht,' 1923.
My favorite recording of these works by Frank Martin, Ernest Ansermet and the Suisse Romande. Superb engineering.
Thanks, I'll look for it. I've always been very fond of his 'Concerto For Seven Wind Instruments, Timpani, Percussion, and Strings.' The piece was played here in Portland, ME., by members of the Portland Symphony a few years ago. Cheers
