Courage, both cool and lonely.

The worst offender
I can definitely work with that.

I still find it slightly odd that not everyone is an omnigamer. It is true that money and time are against us trying to play absolutely everything.
Iโm a 2.
Good luck with your new venture. If I wasnโt 4,000 miles away, Iโd pop in myself.
How Much I Dislike the Daily Mailย ย I would ratherย eat Quavers that are six weeks stale,ย blow dry the man bun of Gareth Bale,ย listen to the songs of Jimmy Nail,ย than read one page of the Daily Mail.ย ย If I was boredย in a waiting room in Perivale,ย on a twelve-hour trip on Network Rail,ย halfway through a circumnavigational sail,ย I would not read the Daily Mail.ย ย I would happily readย the autobiography of Dan Quayle,ย 1001 Things You Can Do With Kale,ย selected scripts from Emmerdale, if it meant I didnโt have to read the Daily Mail.ย ย Far better toย stand outside in a storm of hail,ย scratch a blackboard with a fingernail,ย be swallowed by a humpback whale,ย than have to read the Daily Mail.ย ย If I was blind ย and it was the only thing in Braille,ย I still would not read the Daily Mail.ย ย Brian Bilstonย
Todayโs poem is called โHow Much I Dislike the Daily Mailโ.
Looking for a copy or audiobook of Bon And Lesley by Shaun Prescott in the UK. I really loved The Town, but this other book of his doesnโt seem to be available here. Is there a specialist importer of Australian books maybe?

The first ever winner of the โFIFA Peace Prizeโ is also likely be the first head of state to host a World Cup while bombing one of the participating countries.
Hit those bonds, and hit them hard.
It was related to my MSc in some way, but my memory is pretty hazy about the details.
Cats only recommend albums THEY want to hear. My mate has Wheels Of Steel by Saxon because his cat pointed to an advert for it in Sounds in 1980.
Is that Monks Wood in what used to be Huntingdonshire? We did a field trip there once.
I know. The truth hurts sometimes.
Iโd like to think Iโm playing somebody different, but my fellow players would probably just say โitโs just Howard wearing a frockโ
Thatโs very true, and Iโm definitely guilty of overusing it.
For UK folks, the public consultation on the future of the BBC closes at midnight tomorrow. The old lady isnโt perfect, but the alternative is too horrible to contemplate.

Thatโs a cracker. Best book of last year for me, but itโs certainly not for everyone.
Me too. StoryGraph is just tracking my reading (the non-Amazon alternative to Goodreads). For most books I could mark them as paused in the app, and leave the bookmark in.
My issue is that Iโm 250 of 600 pages through a library book with no renewals left and another one with 5 reserves on it.
There is now a Pause option in StoryGraph. Maybe I should use that.
This is what my book group friends tell me. They despair ๐
I think if I DNF once I might be okay after that. It does feel like failure though. If it was a really really terrible book or one with a horrible subject matter, it would be easier to abandon than one thatโs just difficult to read.
Which 3 #ttrpgs were your intro, where you fell in love, and one that opened your eyes to possibility.
The Intro: Also White Box D&D. In hindsight, I wonder how we understood how to play.
The Love: Also Traveller. The ultimate sandbox.
The possibility: Delta Green. Investigation with continuity.
If only the sentence โoooh that looks interestingโ had never been invented Iโd be in much better shape.
My strict never DNF policy just exacerbates the problem.
Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James. Itโs intriguing, but hard work. Iโve run out of renewals for it, and one of my unstarted library books (Leonard & Hungry Paul) has 5 reserves. I have two other library books out and I havenโt even started Wuthering Heights for book group yet. Oh the pressure!
This is a good moment for Europe & UK to remember that they can stick up wind and solar, insulates houses, far quicker than they can find new gas in e.g. North Sea
If you're chasing more gas, it's now a case of which unreliable regime you prefer to depend on
