it’s difficult to stomach talking to others who haven’t been stretched this way by grief and i wonder how anyone managed to be around me at all before this chrysalis of grief.
it’s frightening to feel your experiences push up against previously understood extremities of pain and suffering. i can feel myself hollow out and rebuild, scaffolded by empathy.
everything everyone says about grief is correct. everything about grief is singular and common. something i did not know about is that you can cry until you give yourself black eyes.
