The Rex Nettleford Foundation 2026 Honouree, Kerry-Ann Henry, reflects on 31 years in dance — a journey defined by discipline, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to the art form.

The National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica (NDTC) mourns the passing of Howard Cooper, a cherished tenor, colleague, and friend whose voice and spirit helped shape the musical life of the Company for more than two decades.
Today we honour the 84th anniversary of the birth of Barry Moncrieffe, Uncle Barry.
A formidable principal dancer and former Artistic Director of the National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica, he was among the strongest artists the Company has ever known.
Gone but never forgotten!
Kamloy Thomas, Amaya Gomes, and Mattu Perry also participated in the rehearsal process.
The work was prepared for performance to Jimmy Cliff’s “Many Rivers to Cross” at the Official Celebration of the Reggae Icon, affirming the Company’s enduring commitment to mentorship and the living legacy of Jamaican dance.
Former NDTC Principal Dancer Melanie Graham, who later performed the role choreographed on Patsy Ricketts in Rex Nettleford’s 'Tribute to Cliff' (1974), returned to coach the next generation. In rehearsal, she worked with Kerry-Ann Henry and Shavaughn Byndloss, who will perform the duet excerpt.
