First light for the Samyang 135mm using the M42 adapter. This is an area I have never imaged before with the Sammy, the Gamma Cassiopeia region, including The Ghost of Cassiopeia nebula and the a tiny capture of The Pacman Nebula down at bottom right.

Also, each panel was at least an hour and I only get 2 hours max before the target is obstructed by the balcony.

Both tbh. I was getting strange artefacts caused by cooling the camera too quickly. Created a cloud effect in the middle of the frame. If it’s warm outside, best cool in two stages :- 0C first, then after 10mins take it down to -10C

The nebulous remnants of a supernova form a sphere of wispy Hydrogen Alpha and Oxygen against a backdrop of stars.

The Veil Complex

This one was hard work, had a lot of issues due to capturing on the two hottest days of the year so far.

This is a 4 pane mosaic of 6hr using the SW 80ED for the nebula and the Redcat 51 for RGB stars.

Registered in APP, processed in PI and PS CC.

A plate adorned with two pan-fried Sea Bass fillets, skin-side up. With a heap of saute potatoes and steamed veg, smothered with melted Miso Butter.

Pan-fried Sea Bass. Served with saute potatoes and veg in melted Miso Butter.

Another 20 minute meal.

Air-fried Chicken Breast pieces smothered in a Gochujang sauce, sitting on a bed of boiled rice.

20 mins from start to finish. Air-fried the seasoned Chicken before adding to the sauce.

I actually changed my mind in this one. It’s overblown Ha is depriving the poor Pelican of much needed OIII.

The version on Astrobin now is the best one.

The North America and Pelican Nebulae in SHO (Hubble) palette.

Another rework of this capture, this time I think I made better use of BB's Normalisation Tool to control the OIII and make the SHO Palette 'pop' a bit more. Happier with this one.

Woke up with something akin to this in my head this morning….

Pan-fried Duck Breast with Lime & Coriander Rice, VIP Guacamole with Fresh Mango Pico de Gallo, Sweetcorn with Black Beans and Griddled Courgette Ribbons with Lime, Garlic and Feta. Rice topped off with a Jalapeño & Smoked Paprika.

I tend to use light Olive Oil as standard and Sunflower or Peanut if I need a 'neutral' taste oil. I don't take much notice to smoke points and just try to use something relatively healthy.

The oils I use I use most often in desc order:-
Olive (Light and XtraVirgin)
Sunflower
Peanut
Mustard
Toasted Sesame

Complete rework using separate Ha & OIII extracts, processed at 50/50 Broadband & Narrowband (stars in Broadband). Tried to bring out the blue in the OIII.

Nicely done! Good contrast, detail and sympathetically processed too. Have been thinking about doing a bit of lunar myself recently, it’s been years since I last had a go, and certainly not with a proper setup in terms of the mount and camera.

A few years back I lived in a village in Suffolk with no street-lights, could see it with naked eye there too 👍

I wouldn’t cancel your vacation just yet.

Managed to grab an opportunistic hours worth of data on M31 at the weekend so I’ve added to the previous Redcat sessions and did a quick process. Came out better than I thought for a rushed job.

The Veil Nebula in Cygnus

Final version of 2 nights captures, one 3 hour session in RGB and an almost 2 hour session in (Hydrogen alpha and Oxygen III).

I stripped RGB stars, combined the BB & NB starless images at 75/25 % using Pixelmath and then remerged the RGB stars.

..on the wide-field Redcat version, that is! :-)

Detail focused on The Witch’s Broom Nebula

This is a composite image captured with two scopes. The stars were captured in last nights session with the Redcat 51.

The nebulosity was captured on 1st May with the Skywatcher 80ED.

This is a combined image of part of the Veil Nebula, including Witch’s Broom Nebula.

Part 2 can be done on another clear night, next time using the Narrowband filter to just grab the nebulosity. Really wanted to get the Broadband done while it’s s relatively New(ish) Moon, to make good use of the pretty decent (Bortle 4) skies here.

The Veil Nebula - Part 1

Last night’s 3 hour Broadband (RGB) capture of the Veil Nebula in Cygnus. No fancy Narrowband filters for this one, this just a straightforward capture with a little bit of light-pollution suppression to deal with the car park lights.

A bowl of rice covered with leftover Chicken Yakitori in Miso Broth, mixed with Pickled Pink Radish, Carrot and Cucumber and topped with toasted then shredded Nori.

Today’s Pickled Pink Radish & Carrot gave a nice, acidic and crunchy contrast to yesterday’s leftover Chicken in Miso Broth, server over rice.

Three small jars filled with thinly sliced Radish and Carrot, then topped with Pickling liquid made from Organic Brown Rice Vinegar.
