I know calling reps is very nerve racking. You're not sure what's the right thing to say, and tbh having a script thrown at me makes things just as nerve racking.

I called today, and I figured I'd write up a transcript of how my call went down. Hopefully it helps demystify the process

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

In all seriousness, if you know where to look, student level instruments are very affordable! You can find scans of method books easily with a quick search. There's tons of music theory channels on YouTube. My personal favorites are 8bit Music Theory, Cadence Hira, and Charles Cornell!
