We mourn. We remember. We identify Nazi symbols for what they are. #RemembranceDay
The one. The only. The greatest. David Lynch showed us what cinema was and how to feel it. Rest in peace, coffee and cherry pie. I'll be crying in my weird dreams.
The message will come when the time is right, meu amigo, fret not and a happy happy happy happy x3 everything to you and your family
Like Adam Sandler once said, a happy, happy, happy, happy Hanukkah!
Moore: "Elections that decide the fate of millions are conducted in an atmosphere more suited to evictions on Iβm a Celebrity β¦, in which contestants who are insufficiently amusing are removed from office. Saleability, not substance, is the issue."
The cartoon is simply a panel of darkness.
A stunning Washington Post editorial cartoon tonight, by Ann Telnaes, titled "Democracy Dies in Darkness."
So despite all these options some people just choose to wait until Nov 5? Like a sense of ceremony of some sort.
(Josh, friend, sorry for spamming your thread so rudely haha. You do know I'm very interested. The upcoming elections might be a main subject in my masters dissertation/related to the research topic)
And...I'm going to assume mail-in voting is a thing in all states (right?) but surely there have been people trying to undermine it (as a way of voting, not just getting rid of ballots)? I assume mail-in voting is more popular among Democrats than Republicans so there would be a reason?
The entire mail-in ballots system fascinates me. I've never seen a mail-in ballot in my life (in-person voting, electronic machine only). So on Nov 5 no one in WA goes to the queues to vote, right? You'll have voted by then. And then the ballots will be processed (or can they be processed before?)
That is genuinely so interesting!!
(curious Brazilian here) So in some states mail-in ballots are already being processed?
I am so glad he made it!
Donald Trump on Truth Social criticizing The Apprentice Trump-style. Sorry I won't transcribe his entire post but it's the same, words like FAKE and CLASSLESS and HUMAN SCUM etc etc.
Best 5-star review of The Apprentice
"The people on the boat with the swastika flags can be heard saying 'Sieg heil, heil Trump.'"
I just can't find the words to express my visceral fear of a second Trump administration.

Not the "saying your name multiple times" JD strategy in email form. Spooky.

You could make a JD Vance version of Seeger's What Did You Learn In School Today?
Good question! Before season 4 started, The Hollywood Reporter mentioned James Caverly (Theo) as "likely to return". His last role was in Law & Order this year (but it's l&o, it was just one episode). So I hope there's at least one Theo scene this season. 4 episodes left, fingers crossed!
Not yet! According to iMDb, the finale will be released on October 29. 6/10 episodes so far. And that's a good plan :)
"Good".
Sending lots of love to all of you and STAY SAFE
John, I hope you and your family are safe β€οΈ
Absolutely, 100%, a brilliant man speaking the truth
Dame Maggie Smith in Gosford Park.
Dame Maggie Smith and Kelly Macdonald in Gosford Park.
Dame Maggie Smith in Gosford Park.
Full cast of Gosford Park (2001).
Outlets will mention Downton Abbey and Harry Potter in the headlines and leave Gosford Park (2001) for the last paragraph. I get it, obviously. But it's perhaps the closest a non-Agatha Christie story will get to Christie's brilliance. And Dame Maggie Smith is the heart of the film. Don't miss out.
One of the greatest. It was an honor to grow up with your work, ma'am. Gosford Park remains my favorite. British cinema will never be the same.
