The numbers confirm what we are all feeling here in southern Minnesota: life is getting tougher and more expensive.
When Minnesota State Sen. Steve Drazkowski (R-Mazeppa) falsely claimed there aren't any activists in Sen. Ann Johnson Stewart's (DFL-Wayzata) district, Stewart corrects the record by referring to Drazkowski's infamous 2023 comment where he said he never met a hungry Minnesotan.
Brad Finstad just voted for war in Iran, putting more service members in harm's way. We can't afford another war in the Middle East, especially not when we have problems here at home that need to be addressed first.
Let me be clear: I would not have voted for the war in Iran.
FinstadWatch: The Farm Bill which passed out of the House Agriculture Committee places limits on the use of agricultural land for solar electricity projects. It does nothing to change payment structures that favor large farms. It controversially limits state regulation of agricultural pesticides.
FinstadWatch: The House Agriculture Committee passed the Farm Bill (HR 7567) with 7 Democrats joining the Republicans to pass the bill 34-17. Most Democrats were critical of the bill for being drawn up without meaningful Democratic input. The bill does nothing to reverse the earlier SNAP cuts.
FinstadWatch: Federal benefits fraud is real and does cost us as taxpayers, but it is a relatively small amount compared to the cost of getting into an unplanned and unnecessary war. The three jets shot down by friendly fire in Kuwait cost $270 million; that’s more than alleged MN Medicaid fraud.
