On Saturday my town has a winter festival-crafts, food, lights, 5k, etc. My drama group is supposed to show a movie and provide snacks for a fundraiser in conjunction with this festival, but we have a forecast of 8-10 inches of snow coming in. 😳

Our HS team is at District Large Group speech contest! We have 4 events, and so far we have achieved a 1 rating, which means at least 1 event will be traveling to State! Our TV News group included everyone on the team, so everyone will get to experience state contest-excited to see our other acts!

Must be in the air because yesterday was the weirdest work day I have had in a long while. And by weird, I mean I can’t believe what happened, happened.
I think it is the sentiment that is important and generally if you are sending a card to somebody, you are looking to hold onto some sort of connection. I regretted not sending out ones last and year and sent mine just after New Year’s Day this year.

I think “84, Charing Cross Road” was my favorite because it was just such a cozy read-long-distance friendship that was related to books. I felt light after reading it.
Most of our newcomers are pushed in this year, rather than having a more sheltered schedule like they did last year. Some gen ed students have opinions about this and I say that it’s really cool to speak more than one language and we should all learn more than 1.

Get a message that the staff retake list was wrong & I am one who needs retake. My picture gets taken & it was horrid. I am using last year’s picture on staff website.🥴
Day before retake day, we get a message that all kids will get retakes & only some staff need retakes. Because it is Friday, I dress more casually, have a t-shirt with a cat that says scream & hair clipped up because we had 6:30 am play practice. +
Then, we get a message that they will just use our elem building line for the rest of jh/hs. Then, elem gets pics back a week later & our building doesn’t. We are coming up on retake day & no pics. +
This is tldr & untimely given when you posted this…Picture day this year started normally. I thought I looked pretty decent. A bit later, we get several messages that something is messed up & kids can’t get pics taken. +
It looks nice! We haven’t had a tree for quite a few years. I wanted one last year but didn’t get one. So yesterday, I bought one at the co-op. I am excited to get it put up-we could use some cheer and in our house! Though, I am predicting cat shenanigans, but that is the price we must pay. 🙂
It is not my desire to work on schoolwork over break, but it is a necessity. So far I’ve graded my 8th graders progress trackers & 2 classes of bell work. Those are the piddly scores , but it feels nice to whittle the pile down a bit. There are larger assessments to get to, but pacing is key.
We have school through 1:30 tomorrow. I have a pile of grading that I will have to at least do something with because I haven’t been able to tackle it at all this week. But I can do the work from my couch so that is a plus!
