#CCS is not a climate plan, it's a delay strategy with the public footing the bill. As #ICMForum convenes Europe faces a choice - subsidising a high-cost technofix to suit fossil fuel interests or prioritise real climate solutions that cut emissions now.
Equinor's & Shells' involvement in #ICMForum working groups means they're making #CCS policy recommendations to the @EU_Commission . Both companies are involved in #CSS projects receiving billions in public funds.
Seems like a bad investment of public € - 78% of #CCS projects fail & 70% of the tracked subsidies are for projects still in the planning stage.
