i think my point is that unless we completely kill the biosphere there will be humans. heck, there are humans alive right now who wouldn’t even notice if civilization collapsed entirely. groups of humans who have no contact with the modern world at all.

my take is that enough people die from collapsing systems well before then and nature begins to recover.
humans won’t all die off imo. maybe it’s a million left, scattered across the world in tribes again.
