Thanks for that. Bugger!
And it's gone!
Live stream will be here: www.youtube.com/live/B132Kcy... The Blades have already beaten Ipswich twice this season (WSL2 and FA Cup), so a hat trick would be very welcome....
BIG game for United Women today who travel to an Ipswich Town side who've taken 5 points from their last 3 and climbed out of the relegation spot - the Blades could really use a point or 3 in this one. Bit of a preview here, KO 2pm: womenofsteel.substack.com/p/a-triple-s...
✉️ New WOMEN OF STEEL just went out, covering:
- a stupidly late postponement
- a triple signing on deadline day
- Connie Scofield back on the grass
- a huge game with Ipswich this weekend
Thanks for reading! Shares always appreciated.

🏆 United's U21 side lost 2-0 to Birmingham City in the PGA Cup semifinals this afternoon, bringing an impressive cup run to an end that saw the Blades knock out Newcastle, Aston Villa and Man City academies.
Obviously Sunderland was by no means a guaranteed win but that postponement now ticking me off even more
Tonight's match has been postponed 1 hour before kickoff due to a waterlogged pitch. Might have gone ahead if it had been at the Stadium of Light as originally scheduled until yesterday's rearrangement? Pretty rubbish for the players not to mention any fans who've travelled...

That January window in full:
🦊 Simone Sherwood, DF / MF, Leicester City (loan)
🐦 Lia O'Leary, MF / FWD, Bristol City (loan)
🚜 Shauna Guyatt, MF, Ipswich Town (loan)
👹 Scarlett Hill, DF, Manchester United (loan)
While last season saw us sign a bunch of young loanees who didn't really contribute (Issy Hobson, Maddie Earl, Ellie Jones), this quartet are joining a much more settled and competent squad. Hopefully means we can rest tired legs much more easily for the rest of the season.
🐉 The final signing of United's transfer window is Welsh international Scarlet Hill, an 18 year old defender on loan from Manchester United for the rest of the season.
Hill is yet to play a senior club game but made her Wales debut in October.

Match day for United as they travel to Sunderland for a 7pm kickoff in #WSL2 - hoping the Blades can end a winless run of five games and build off the good performance against Charlton.
United should welcome back Jess Reavill from suspension. Match will be live on the WSL's YouTube channel.
✍️ The second of United's three signings is midfielder Shauna Guyatt, on loan from Ipswich Town for the rest of the season. Guyatt made 18 appearances for title-winning Crystal Palace in 2023/24, and has played 7 times this season for Ipswich, scoring once.

✍️ United have signed Ireland youth international Lia O'Leary on loan from Bristol City for the rest of the season. 19 year old O'Leary is a former teammate of Joy Ralph's, and can play as a winger or forward.

I look forward to it! Only just noticed Durham signed Lily Agg, always been impressed by her whenever I've seen her play.
United's official accounts teasing three new faces... I did think we'd kept things suspiciously quiet on deadline day

Yessir. Also feels like if they're changing the league cup already then there's even more reason to keep a pure knockout cup format. It's not like we're currently getting deprived of watching Arsenal / Chelsea / City in the last four etc anyway.
Catch up on a wild weekend of WSL 2 action as big results alter the shape of the division at both ends in this week's review! Shares are much appreciated #woso #wsl

It’s the WSL and WSL2 transfer deadline day. Clubs have until 23:00 GMT to complete moves. We’ll have a live text running on the BBC Sport from 9am with the latest rumours and deals.

Some proposed changes for the FA Cup which could come into play as soon as next season, albeit with "significant opposition from a lot of clubs".
Tbh if they could seed us as a home team for once then I'd vote for anything
🗞️ New edition of WOMEN OF STEEL just dropped, reviewing an excellent draw with leaders Charlton 🙌
It's also transfer deadline day for WSL and WSL2, so I'll have my eyes open for any late moves by the Blades:

Beaut of a first-time cross for our goal today (and a big header)
Another stellar performance from teenager Tilly Bristow today in midfield. Won 10/11 duels and was fouled 4 times, both the most by any player. Some great bursts through the middle too, all against the best team in the league.
An excellent 1-1 draw with leaders Charlton, Amy Andrews with United's goal in the first half. Superb performance from the Blades who almost win it late when Abi Lafayette's corner is touched onto the underside of the bar. Really enjoyable game.
On the flip side, excited to see how we look going forward with Andrews, Devlin AND Ralph all on the pitch from the start - especially where the latter plays. Possibly two number 10s?
Cowan and Lafayette have done well shifting from wingback to wide centreback this season but this is still an XI kind of without a proper central defender! United without Reavill, Taylor and Graham there. Assuming Sherwood drops into CB from midfield otherwise it really is a wacky lineup
