The paper introduces the concept of "collective hypervisibility" to show how these hubs are experienced as both shelters from integration challenges and spaces where refugees are homogenised and targeted as a group, with implications for similar contexts worldwide. 3/3
Together with Z. Ezgi Haliloğlu Kahraman, we argue that #refugee hubs in Turkey provide Syrian refugees with both #protection and #integration opportunities while simultaneously subjecting them to intensified #surveillance and #control by authorities. 2/3
