Hey, Im basically making an extra $2K because my dollar is so shit so I can't really complain right now HAHAH. But yeah.. its absolutely insane how much our dollar plummeted when the tariffs were introduced and then later put on hold. 🙃 I hate that WE are the pawns in this stupid fucking game.

Today the crowds were so thin, we couldn't do full shows, so I took my 30 min timeslots to develop some new material. I came up with some real gems on the fly. I never work with children but I kind of want to start doing more bits with kids in my shows.

I feel extremely privileged to make art for a living, but holy hell, I don't get it that I'm still being paid the same amount of money for this gig as I made 20 years ago. I guess I'm technically making more bc the CDN dollar is shit (internationally, we are always paid in USD). It still sucks!

I feel you. I cant believe I'm in my 40s and I'm making less money than when I started my career and I have nothing to show for my life. Being stuck in the same position for 20 years professionally fucking sucks. And now all this...

Everybody's falling sick at this gig. Its like Dubai 2020 all over again. So far I have been lucky. I don't mind taking one for the team and doing extra shows but I sincerely hope I don't get whatever is going around 😶 #tourlife #circus

This gig is testing my fortitude. While I'm very happy to be back at work, and the shows have been lovely, it's been a slog. My brain is exhausted and I miss my boyfriend and cat. 6 more days on tour.

Proof of life update. Its been rainy in China and I haven't yet done a full show. Its cold, and wet. We have been doing a lot of hurry up and wait.

Last night we had a traditional Chinese New Year dumpling dinner that was fabulous. Today we do the dress rehearsal and opening parade. 08:30 call time. Why is my hotel room always the afterparty room 😫

This hotel has a gym! I felt extra sluggish on the treadmill, probably due to the flight edema + jetlag and NOT because I didn't know how to program the machine because it's in Mandarin. 🙃

The ride t Jiujiang was pretty easy. It was kind of magical being sleep deprived and listening to Kraftwerk while the neon lights passed by the tour bus.
