(Incluso llevan consignas anti aborto)

A #squirrel gets gently brushed and clearly enjoys it.
When the scratching stops, it taps for more. This reaction is common in #mammals, as grooming and gentle touch can trigger calming responses and even release endorphins.
My photo shows a small sculpted figurine thought to represent a cave lion. The figurine is standing in profile facing left. The head is lowered and has pointed ears. The body is covered with incised markings which include cross lines on its abdomen and a dot pattern over the back and thighs. The lower legs are not present. The figurine was carved from mammoth ivory and is a warm cream colour. It measures just under 8.8 cm in length and 3.4 cm in height. It was excavated in the 1930s, together with a number of other carved ivory animal figurines and some of the world’s earliest known musical instruments, from the Vogelherd Cave, in the Swabian Jura, Germany. Dated to the Aurignacian period. On display at Museum Ancient Cultures, Hohentübingen Castle, Tübingen, Germany.
Something lovely for the weekend!
About 40,000 years ago, during the #IceAge, this small figurine of a ‘big cat’ was sculpted from mammoth ivory. Thought to be a cave lion, it is one of the world’s oldest known works of figurative art.

¡Oh! 😮 Ya veo
Gracias por la referencia.
¿Cuál es el nombre de ese estudio?
Me interesa leerlo.

My photo shows a view through the entrance passage of the house of Lucius Caecilius Iucundus (Casa di Cecilio Giocondo), REGIO V, INSULA I, 26, looking towards the atrium and tablinum. On the floor of the entrance passage is a mosaic depicting a small black guard dog which is curled up asleep. Mosaic depictions of ‘guard dogs’ were popular placed at the entrance of wealthy homes in Pompeii. Lucius Caecilius Iucundus, the owner of this house, was a wealthy banker who lived in Pompeii 2,000 years ago.
Beware of the dog??! 👀 🐾

My photo shows a limestone fragment measuring 17 cm x 11.5 cm x 4 cm with a painting of a female dancer shown in profile performing an acrobatic back bend, a so-called ‘crab’ position. The girl has long wavy/crimped black hair which falls down to the ground. She is wearing large gold circular earrings and a black kilt with a decorative red and white pattern which is tied at the front around her hips. This limestone fragment comes from the Workers Village of Deir el-Medina which housed the artisans who worked on the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Artists used ostraca (flakes of limestone and broken pottery pieces) as sketch and note pads for practice drawings, sketching, writing poetry etc.etc. Thousands of ostraca have been found at Deir-el Medina.
Artist’s painting of an acrobatic dancer, c. 1292 - 1077 BC.
Away from the constraints of formal tomb art, an ancient Egyptian artist chose to spend their free time painting this beautiful image on a limestone flake.

A sketch made in black ink on a limestone flake (ostracon) depicts a cat and mouse imitating human behaviour. On the right, seen in profile, a tabby cat with pointed ears stands on its hind legs serving a mouse seated on a folding stool. The cat fans the mouse, holds a piece of cloth, and offers a plucked duck. Facing the cat, the mouse is seated on a folding stool with its tail hanging over the back edge of the stool. The seemingly female mouse wears a long skirt and has a flower on her forehead. She holds a dish in her right hand, and a flower and cloth (often held by pharaohs) in her left hand. Dimensions 8.9 x 17.3 x 1.1 cm. Dated c. 1295–1075 BC. Animals imitating human behaviour are well-known in Egyptian art. Their meaning is uncertain. Perhaps a caricature or illustration to a fable, perhaps a satire of the royal family, or maybe just a sketch for fun.
To bring a smile to your face this Monday morning, here’s an ancient Egyptian sketch of a cat serving a mouse! 😄
The artist used a flake of limestone as a sketchpad for this fun scene.
