How restoring river catchments can minimise drought and flood risks Natural infrastructure can be restored in ways that reduce both flood risk and the effects of drought.

Drought is a natural part of climatic variability, but interacts with human pressures to cause biodiversity loss in rivers.

Habitat restoration can both reduce flood risk and promote ecological resilience to drought – a win-win – but investment is needed.
