Two excellent films!
Two excellent films!
"Never been seen before" is also a dementia thing. My grandmother's phrase was "have you ever seen such a thing?" about relatively common things and events.
I really appreciate it in a movie theater. There are few things more distracting than the watch lighting up every time there's a new email or text. It's super easy to set.
I get it free with ads with my internet provider. It's not bad.
But anyway, you probably won't see this ad, then, unless they play it during Top Chef and you watch it on Bravo directly.
Okay!
1. On the right side of the watch, there are two buttons (the top on is more of a dial). Click on the bottom button.
2. You'll see a bunch of icons. Scroll to the fourth row. On the left, you'll see the comedy/tragedy theater masks. Tap on it.
3. This shuts off notification sounds & lights.
No, I think it's supposed to be at a store. I saw the ad on Peacock, so watch for it.
4. You can set it to sense when you're washing your hands and then it has a 20 second countdown timer to make sure you really wash them well. It's okay.
5. It's great for finding your phone if you've misplaced it near you.
3. Pick a watch face you like. I have the one with an analog clock with four dots around the middle. It's called Meridian. I have the date at the top, a button to be able to set timers (one of my favorite features of the watch) at the right, my calendar at the bottom, & the temperature on the left.
1. Go through the settings (which you do on your phone) and turn off anything that doesn't interest you.
2. Learn how to do Theater Mode (click on bottom button, scroll down and tap on the masks) for when you're watching movies.

Is Ellie on her own for the AfterShow because no one would team up with her, or was she in another location for work? #BelowDeckDownUnder
There is no way I could have done that job at their age. I never had the level of physical energy needed for interior or deck.
But it would also never have occurred to me to take a high-paying job on a yacht!
The Lure
So there's this new Starbuck's ad. Shows absolutely luscious coffee being ground, made pour over, milk frothed, poured into glass mugs, poured into white porcelain mugs.
Nice, but...none of that happens at a Starbucks, certainly not visibly to a customer. And coffee only comes in paper cups.
Mike puts in no effort! #BelowDeckDownUnder
Perhaps someone could read this on Fox News so Trump will be told?
Plus it's not like she's living in a Quonset hut.
Matt Damon (4 films) Harry Davenport (3 films) Henry O'Neill (3 films) Ben Whishaw (3 films) Jean Arthur (3 films)
Of the 125 movies I've seen so far in 2026, my #Letterboxd most-watched actor is Matt Damon. All bangers: SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, OCEANS ELEVEN, THE DEPARTED, and tonight's little local film club saw WE BOUGHT A ZOO.
The opening of THE LIFE OF EMILE ZOLA opens as though it's "La Bohème." #NowWatching
Itβs a great evasive answer, since there is no such thing as The Department of War.
My husband spent a lot of time in Brazil, in the same area, during the time this is set (except the end part). He says it rings true.
Remember how, a year ago, you made a contribution to your local public media to counteract the elimination of federal funding?
It's time to do it again. Last year, I raised my monthly pledge from $5 to $7. Today, I bumped it up to $8.
(In CT, we have one organization for both public TV and radio.)
If only we had a president who chose his words carefully.
I do so everyday. I call it Earth 2 and itβs a far more relaxing place.
One of my favorite films from last year (I saw it at a film festival for director's first and second films) got a distribution deal and will be shown in the US starting in April. Watch for it: OMAHA. Don't read about it ahead of time.
I wasn't miserable watching it, but since Tayne only has two movies left to see from the Oscars list, she can skip this one.
FRANKENSTEIN is one I should have bailed on. My early suspicion that I wouldn't like it continued (and I swear I watched with an open mind!).
THE BRIDE! otoh, I loved.
@altarcallmafs.bsky.social You can go ahead and skip F1. I watched it this weekend in about the best circumstances possible. Not terrible, not good. Dumb dialogue.
As my son said, "It's all about tires." That delights him, btw. Doubt it will delight you.
Do see The Secret Agent.
Are you familiar with The Chronicle of Higher Education? It's paywalled, but your local public library may get you access. It has its pulse, in a genuine way, on what's happening at colleges and universities.
Librarians know how students do research. They also train students in how to use research facilities.
You can start by asking at a more local school to you, even if it isn't a place your kid would consider.

I'll be interested in what you find in your quest.
This is thorough and merciless and more applicable to American domestic affairs than you might expect. www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...
