I thought we had passed that point. It only takes 3g of explosives to kill a person.
Ukraine is making 50,000 drones per month for the one empty drone kill zone between the front lines so swarms no longer needed.
Drones are cheap compared to conventional weapons or even soldiers pay

I tried to tax my car for another year so I rang the number printed on the reminder.
0300 123 4321
It is the same number that I used last year.
Unexpectedly the screen showed me I had rung Birmingham driving school.
Can anyone explain why? #dvla

Some of my neighbourhood would be the same as built in the 1880s but some of the larger houses nearby have been removed and replaced with blocks of flats.

Puzzle:
I have cold supply to house and a pressure reducing valve to a hot water tank with expansion tank above and overpressure relief valve
Terrible knocking and vibration starts but no water flowing. Solved by drawing hot tap (no Immersion on)
Where is the energy coming from with static water?

Over the last 25 years 500 have closed but 800 opened so the choice is expanding.

This is the first time that I have seen a Brooklyn lamp post and I like the added festive garland wrapped around it. Another on the far side of the road next to the steps.
Sadly the ice sculpture will soon melt, the garlands removed but the lamp post should be around for decades if not centuries.

They don't make lamps like these any more.
I am curious to know what it would look like on a dark night when it is burning.
The face may be more dramatic picked out by a shimmering flame and strong shadows dance across the wall behind.
Who wants monsters in the dark when your lamp is one?

AI does not have to be right but just plausible.
I don't think that AI knows what it creates
Good for users who know little but users who know a lot always check the output and often find mistakes or "hallucinations"

Perhaps the AI could write the paper and book so all will be well.
Then other AI will consume it for training and no human will be needed

I have experienced this when buying books.
Just bought a four volume set and the web site promoted another vendor offering the same titles at 50% more.
The web site got paid by the vendor who had no idea that was advertising wasted.

Anything made by humans in the past can be made today using the same methods.
True or false?
But what about mass produced items from production lines?
Yes I have seen a reproduction early light bulb.
But what about filament light bulbs that came from machines making 50,000 bulbs a day?

Light bulbs used to be made of soda glass when they had a filament in the centre.
Electric arcs melt glass and even quartz so to contain a high pressure sodium light use ceramic. The hunt continues to make them let out more light and increase efficiency.

I was worried about how much I was about to spend on a carbon arc lamp.
Later I saw this post and relaxed as it sold for $3,125,000.
(Add on a circa $700,000 buyers premium)
I suppose the artist name increased the price.

I wonder how many flats there are in the building in Pimlico where he has bought a flat.
With the introduction of the so-called mansion tax there must be multiple tens of thousands of additional tax revenue.

The lamp base size can be judged by the walking pedestrian next to it. The diameter of the base is more than the height of the person. The base narrows in a series of decorative curves but has still not reduced in diameter at over twice the height of the person
I do like the magnificent base of this ventilation gas lamp. They don't make them like this since the 1890s historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-...

The CFL are now historic and one day I will put together a display as they came in a huge variety of coils, loops and twists.
Even got a couple of rare ones that had coloured tubes.

Ordinary light bulbs came in a corrugated cardboard sleeve and held in place by a cardboard inset that had a hole for the bayonet.
These came in full colour printed boxes. Premium packing for what was an expensive lamp but longer life and lower power.

It was a first generation CFL so obviously improved. The weight was due to a coil of wire round a block of steel plates.
A magnetic ballast that limited the current.
Later CFL use electronics to limit the current

One of four generators in the engine room. White thermal insulation
2/2 oil burning boilers and steam turbine engines.
Four electric generators powered the many electrical items on board from Radar to ovens.
Lots of warning signs as some asbestos insulation in situ but encased in fibreglass

The tower bridge was shut to traffic for a short time but it did photo bomb my picture of a signal lamp. Managed to visit most of the ship
