Why is Kurt Suzuki still calling the collection of major league baseball players he is meant to lead "the kids"? And why has nobody on the Angels told him he should maybe not do that?

Ron Washington did this, but he is 73. And he has been in baseball longer than most of the current Angels have been on Earth. Kurt Suzuki played with or against at least half the dudes on the Angels roster and holy moly it seems disrespectful IMO

I'm personally not a big fan of the Kurt Suzuki hire. But honestly, on my list of things to dislike about it, I really didn't like him calling the players "kids" for that whole press conference. It sets a tone that they aren't, and won't be, ready to compete next season.
