Thank you Rory
We love seeing eveyone off at the end of the day and saying goodbye for the evening at the school gates. The students are always so friendly and happy going home!!! What does that say about school? π€£π€£π€£
Just walking by our amazing PE department. Never underestimate the importance of PE in school. Not just about kicking a ball around! It's about learning, science, wellbeing, discipline, persistence, achievement, health, nutrition, skills, fun, winning, losing, friendship, teamwork and so much more!!
Just got back from the most magnificent place in Ireland, maybe the world.. Skellig Michael. If you ever get the chance to go, don't pass it up!

- Number of people killed on October 7: 1195.
Response...War.
- Number of people killed on 9/11: 2977.
Response...War.
- Average number of gun deaths in the US every year: add both, multiply by 12.
Response...Thoughts & Prayers!
Q. How many gun deaths would there be if there were no guns?
Should essential public services have to privately fundraise? Because most schools have a grographical demographic & catchment that scales according to local levels of affluence, fundraising & contributions within them fundamentally exacerbate problems of inequality!

It's true, some Leaving Certs are worth more than others! Especially this one. Joseph here thought he would never get one, never make it. There were tough times, when it seemed less likely & far away. When othes gave up, he kept going & he kept trying! This guy will go on to do wonderful things!
Thank you Angela
www.irishtimes.com/life-style/p... This is excellent @kevinshortall.bsky.social thank you for sharing a year in the life of a secondary schoolππ» #edchatie

Was he cooperative?
Where can I get these?
Very exciting new project progressing in @staidanscs.bsky.social!
Wait till you see what we have coming in the next few weeks!!!
It certainly was a treat and obviously so much better and longer than the video captures. Sad to hear the plight of these magnificent creatures is still so precarious. Thank you for your reply and for your important work.
I visit this place for inspiration before every new school year. For 850 years #hooklighthouse has guided countless people through all types of waters, helping them find safe passage to their destination. It has weathered every storm & stood strong, shining its light on magnificent natural beauty!
2 Kestrels fighting stopping traffic on the hook peninsula. (sound on). This, just a fraction of the action. We waited & blocked cars until they finished & flew off. Both appeared fine after one seemed to submit. Are there more about this year @birdwatchireland.bsky.social @seanronayne.bsky.social?
The dog is not interested is Sneaky Pete, but I have to say, it's the best show I've seen in ages!!!
How beautiful is this tortoiseshell on a dahlia I planted? Is seems there are many more butterflies about this year. Is it because of the warmer spring we've had?

Sunset in my #thinplace
An image of the book, "Nature Boy" by SeΓ‘n Ronayne, on a coffee table outdoors on a deck.
My most enjoyable summer read yet, #natureboy by @seanronayne.bsky.social. It sums up beautifully what's important to remember, cherish & protect in our world & lives. A must for educators, so we can properly situate nature in schools & also become more inclusive! Autism is rarely explained better!
Swallows in the balmy evening heat, Bitonto, Puglia Italy. So fast you cant even follow them with a camera, do they ever stop? Then this! What's going on @birdwatchireland.bsky.social @carlowweather.bsky.social?

Another opportunity to stare and wonder!
Round tower Clondalkin in the evening sun
Out for an evening walk in Clondalkin. We often forget or take for granted the treasures around us. Thousands of years of history, here a 1500 year old monument from a time when Ireland was at the global centre of monastic christian learning & writing. Nearby, so much more. Maybe I'll do a series! π€£
