I do remember even in my semester there that there was a mental load in figuring “everything” out. Like a lot of business conducted at the post office. Some things only at a certain type of pharmacy. Etc. but that’s to be expected in a new place. Also not making friend and avoiding expats? Ugh.

and it's that shame response that people need to get over. Just say "oh wow i didn't know, thanks for helping me learn" and there's nothing shameful about that. No one is supposed to know everything or be perfect. and I don't know why (men in particular) can't get that message.

some people really take something like that as a personal attack and I don't get it. Like they hear "you're so stupid" rather than "here's some relevant info" so they respond with "f you" instead of "cool thanks!" It makes me crazy because I'm also a fact checker :)

and it'll work until everyone has actually heard of it and uses it and then everyone is getting there with reservations and they can't ALL be at the front of the line.

We have a new thing in Seattle called "Spot Hero" that allows you to basically make a reservation to come to security at a given time (15 minute window) and if you come then, you go to the front of the line (ish?) but the security screening and all is still the same. And this is free.
