I really love the part shortly after Vash wakes up, when he gets knocked across the floor, flips back up, fires his gun while walking, then ducks down to reload. That whole snippet was animated so well. Bonus shoutout to Vash biting Knives though (sibling behaviour)

I love that we got some actual reference to Tesla. It's such an integral part of both Vash's and Knives character (which 98 unfortunately skipped). I'm hoping stargaze expands upon it cos there's more there. Also loved the visual of things dissolving into petals as Vash's memory is erased.

I really love how the episode ends, that low angle shot of Knives lingering over the thread keeping Vash suspended before he cuts it (and drops him into the soup). But shoutout to Elendira's scene where she breaks out of the tank with her nails (for the drama of it I'm sure)

I honestly like how they recontextualized Knives cutting off Vash's arm. It's no longer him just being spiteful (after Vash shot him) but something intended to save him. Cos yeah, Knives is abusive and terrible, but he does care about Vash, that's part of what makes it so tragic.

Fave part has to be Vash's plant marking reveal, that shot of him with a blank spaced out expression and the dependant plant behind him

Fave part has gotta be the flashback, I love the style change and the choice of silent dialogue. Honorable mention to Vash pinning Livio and the fact the punisher has a shield mode though.

Vash calling Rollo 'little man'. Honestly his whole interaction with the younger him was so sweet, it's rough he never knew what he was leading him back to.

It's a small detail, but I like that when they reconvene after the search for Meryl, there's a load of used cigarettes where Wolfwood is standing - shows he never bothered to go far. Also love love love him twirling the punisher around when it's revealed.

It feels horrible to say, but I do like the bit where Rosa is clinging to the arm of that other woman as she gets dragged back by Knives' blades, really sets him up as terrifying, and the big circle he dices jenora with was really cool too. I love that he gets to show his powers unlike the 98

I love when asked if he has any pride Vash is like 'yeah nah', and his little speech about 'what's wrong with being a little timid' was nice too, helps to establish what's important to him (protecting lives rather than acting rashly or maintaining a reputation)

Yes, but you need to go in with the understanding that it's a re-imagining and not a 1-1 adaptation. It's different. It changes plenty of things. It adds elements from the manga the 98 never touched. It's got its own strengths and weaknesses.
