I just became THAT person who walked into a brewery and asked them to put on the UNC game - just one TV! I'm deep in Big12 territory so most of the bar doesn't love it. Fortunately they all also hate Duke, so its a weird, but excellent, vibe.

Well, my weekend plans now include A Mighty Wind, Best in Show, and Waiting for Guffman. And old SCTV clips. Something to watch while I'm writing my Senators and out protesting. Rest in power Catherine O'Hara.

Get a pass now! Its good until the end of Dec 2026. I got mine last weekend. If you can, go in person so the majority of your $$ goes to that site! National Parks, Monuments, Historic Sites, Battlefields and many other locations sell them. Check online for one near you!

If you are interested in more, I recommend the Floodlines podcast. the pod was released in March 2020 so it got a bit lost in the pandemic, but it is enlightening. the episode about FEMA director Michael Brown (they interviewed him!) is insane.

Classics are great, but they should be balanced with novels written in the last 50 years.

Hah! I spent endless hours looking for non-metal materials (screws, adhesives, gears, etc) to build water samplers for metals monitoring. Finally found a guy who took me seriously and was fascinated, so he kept a list of new items for me. I thanked him in my thesis!
