Help kiddo won't stop asking me to play chess even though he keeps losing.

This thing is trippy. I THINK smaller is better. Be sure to close your eyes in between guesses. They flash your boundary guess and the true boundary in between new colors, which creates ghost images and can mess with you.

I think smaller is better. Got 0.0024 this second time. I realized that with them flashing our result and the true boundary, it was creating ghost images and that messes with our perceived boundary. Had to close my eyes and let my cones/rods reset in between. Sometimes the boundary was a fuzzy spark

I can't even tell if bigger number or smaller number is better from the explanation. Like... Huh?

I don't get the explanation. (but there was one spot where it said "Nope!" And highlighted exactly where I swear I tapped and I was pissed!) (also, I had to turn up the brightness on my phone) (also, I couldn't tell the difference on reds)

I have gotten zero health bills for 2026 but am still getting bills for 2025 and I don't know how anyone is supposed to keep up with anything and when the heck are the ginormous "deductible not met" bills gonna hit and why is the US like "pay taxes so we can bomb people and you can be sick"?

Today is one of those days I want to scream and keep screaming for a bit and run to the mountains and scream and make people stare at me and say, "what the heck, why is she screaming, is she crazy? Should we call the police?" Except I don't want them to say that I want them out of the mountains.

Everybody's like lol yup those of us with solar are laughing at you peons and dude, solar was my goal before stupid head was elected in 2016 and ever since then it's been I hope I can survive the next emergency, and the Leaf's battery is old and we need HVAC and a roof. I WANT SOLAR.

Insurance made me switch from my new migraine med to a different migraine med that can cancel out birth control and can also cause serious birth defects and also we live in a state where abortion is basically banned and I don't know if I would get one anyway but we can't afford a kid w/birth defects

Oh and the dog's seatbelt unbuckles on the way home AGAIN and your dog sits on the gear shift stick (automatic, but in the center like a manual) and pops your car into neutral while you're driving.

And find the poop bags at home where they fell off the poop bag holder cap right after you checked to see if they were therem

Just your typical dog-walking trip, where the dog's seatbelt comes unbuckled on the way to the trail, you lose the poop bags on the way to the pooping spot, you walk all the way back to the car, don't find them, find a different bag, go back and get them, nearly get bowled over while picking up poop

Let's say everyone in charge gets out. Is gone. How do we change the minds of their believers? How do we convince the world we've changed? That we won't sow chaos and destruction wherever we go? That we won't deserve to have millstones around our necks and be tossed into the sea?

Today I woke up with so much pain and nausea that I called in sick to work. I have taken several naps, a hot shower, had one of my kids' leftover onadestrone from a stomach bug, acetaminophen, and small bits of food.

If this isn't nortriptyline withdrawal, I don't want to know what it is.

I feel so trapped in this lab, having to scramble as loads of samples just keep coming and coming, as my fingers are finally moving faster as my brain clears, and my music is blaring in my headphones.

Just let me lay on a blanket on the damp ground and edit and watch the ants and crocuses.

The more my meds work, the more I right, and the more I realize just how boring this job is and I just wanna quit and run into the hills and drag my family with me (because they're not who I'm running from).

Hi Kat I know you're not on here often, but I want to say thank you for your wonderful work. I found it on Webtoon, and it's so inspiring. I've gotten back into writing after nearly a decade in large part because of your work.

(something else: the music is all what my choir director would call "mushy". AI doesn't seem to understand diction or clarity. It may be the promoter's fault, but it seems like a common theme is mushy more, more, more)

I'm sad that there's so many people making AI "music" and not even understanding what truly makes a song sing in our hearts.

Everything is a flat barrage all at once at whatever tempo or volume or style. A choir is a legion of voices without the clarity of a good choir. Same with orchestra or percussion. The lead cannot modulate their voice or emphasize certain syllables.

...their synthetic voices. There's no crystal clear, goosebump-inducing chord creation or progression. There's also no difference in sound balancing. All are flat and given the same weight. There's not even crescendo or decrescendo, or much volumetric difference.

Well, AI music keeps slipping into my music stream, but the unexpected side effect is that I'm getting better at spotting it and blocking the "artists." I'm wishing our old Leaf's battery could go just a bit farther, or that there were just a few more fast chargers along my commute. But noooo. I'm glad we can use it as the around town car, but I wish there were more battery exchange places.
