Having braids changes how the world treats me. I get death stares and asks to touch my hair. When my hair is braided, they know I’m #Black, and that I’m leaning into my culture. In turn, they become bolder with their #racism. The election has emboldened their bigotry. #blackhistorymonth #braids

Surgery went well and I’m doing my best to be a lazy lump this week. TV, audiobooks, and water coloring.

For me, the pain isn’t hard to deal with. I’m very delicate getting up and down and moving from side to side. I have pain in my back from the gas they use but I can take half of the pain medication they gave me and do just fine. It’s more inconvenient than painful. Let me know if you have questions!
