My guess is that it is allowed. Doesn't make it ethical though. This is a recurring issue with climate-skeptic research, "experts" in totally unrelated fields publish papers, sometimes listing impressive credentials, but don't have a lick of experience studying climate science.

Holy shit. A catastrophic storm just ripped our baby goat shelter out of the ground. And these guys are way too big to confine in these playpens.

Oh dear...
remember this? the authors are back at it with another paper claiming the ipcc's conclusions about ocean heat content are fatally flawed scienceofclimatechange.org/wp-content/u...
Interestingly enough, the Grok authorship is not as front and center as in last year's paper. Wondering if I'll get harassment emails claimed to be written by the AI author in reply to my work if I debunk this one too π€... (sorry, retyped this cause I had left a typo in there and it bothered me!).
I should've also noted there's a sector of society--a academic/ progressive intersection--that believes that getting language right is everything, either a substitute or a magical incantation for real change. (Which also covers for people who are malicious but have mastered the vocabulary.)
Speaking of misogyny, it's like climate people are the woman who just need to be more beautiful, sexy, charming, irresistible, flawless, understanding so the man will behave himself. No pressure on the man to stop the bad behavior.

Tweet that reads Leo Xander @STALLEON Stop taking social media so serious. Nothing here is real. Look at this chicken V - it is bigger than the car
I think about this tweet every time I feel something online start to curl its annoying little grip into my head
This is a delightful profile of bald eagles, which are kleptoparasites (they steal food from others), have talons the size of your thumb that lock onto prey, and sound like they're ... giggling. slate.com/technology/2... by @bittelmethis.bsky.social on @slate.com

It's official: US Gold Winning Olympic Hockey team declined invitation to be political props for Trump at the SOTU tomorrow
The women, that is
The men are still too stupid, self-absorbed and misogynistic to realize that going, will stick to them permanently
Me, watching Heated Rivalry: "Maybe I'll get into men's hockey."
Me, seeing the men's Olympic hockey team celebrate with a fascist:
Hereβs a screen recording of the video where Kash Patel has Trump on the phone with the U.S. menβs hockey team and Trump invites them all to the SOTU, adding that heβll have to invite the womenβs team as well (to laughter from the men) or else heβll be impeached

I can't get over this number: in 2007, there were 360,000 newspaper jobs. Now, there are 80,000. "My local paper sucked!" Sure. What sucks even more? The void. "I get all my news from the Guardian!" No, the Guardian doesn't report on your town council, your school board, local cops.
For the deniers: Just because you can make a snowball today, that doesnβt negate the reality of climate change

πI usually do not sign non-climate pieces any more but felt this one was so important to share on Bsky considering the harmful narratives that have been going viral.
