The Trump administration is gearing up to kick an estimated six million more people off of food assistance programs β including nearly two million children.
The move would save just $1 billion a year, while Trump spends upwards of $1 billion per *day* on his new forever war.
Priorities.
We're spending $1 billion per day on war as millions of working people struggle to get by.
Meanwhile, America's ultra-rich have never been richer.
"We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both." βJustice Louis Brandeis
Trump has now conducted 42 boat strikes, killing nearly 160 people.
Remember: no judge or jury has found these boats were trafficking drugs. We're simply taking Trump's word for it.
Heβs unilaterally acting as judge, jury, and executioner.
This is a danger to us all.
Trump is spending $1 billion a day waging war on Iran. Meanwhile...
Trump's sons are investing in a drone company that could soon receive Pentagon contracts.
And of course Trump's Big Oil donors stand to gain windfall profits as the price of oil skyrockets.
War is a racket.
This is how our government has been corrupted:
1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat
We must get big money out of politics. Itβs the root of all evil in Washington.
Trump's "New Golden Age" for America.
How's it working out for you?
We're spending $1 billion per day on war as millions of working people struggle to get by.
Meanwhile, America's ultra-rich have never been richer.
Trump signed an EO benefitting Bayer, the makers of cancer-linked weedkiller Roundup and deadly munitions component white phosphorus.
It came after Bayer hired top Trumpworld lobbyist Brian Ballard and spent over $9M last year on federal lobbying.
"Drain the swamp."
Millionaires stopped paying into Social Security for the rest of 2026 today.
Billionaires stopped paying in on January 1st.
You're going to pay in for 298 more days.
This makes zero sense. The wealthy should pay in all year like the rest of us.
Scrap the cap.
Unfortunately, Trumpβs version of βcrushing healthcareβ involves historic gutting of Medicaid and pushing health plans with $31,000 deductibles.
Eric Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. are acquiring a drone company that is seeking to meet Pentagon demand after Trump banned the use of Chinese drones.
Weβre barely a week into Trumpβs war and already his family has found a way to cash in.
Everything is for sale.
Reminder: DHS is still routinely violating peopleβs constitutional rights.
Democrats must continue to fight to rein them in.

After slashing SNAP & Medicaid, Trump is using his Iran War to line the pockets of military contractors.
I'm reminded of the words of MLK:
"A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom."
"EXCLUSIVE: Iβm the Palestinian Who Has Been in ICE Detention for Almost a Year.
Don't forget us on International Women's Day, writes Leqaa Kordia."

WE STILL DON'T HAVE A CLEAR ANSWER ON THE MOST BASIC QUESTION ABOUT THE IRAN WAR
WHY did the U.S. go to war?
A Popular Information review of public statements over the last 9 days found 17 DIFFERENT EXPLAINATIONS. Many of which contradict each other.

Trump says he wonβt sign any other bills until the SAVE Act is passed, which requires voters to show proof of citizenship with expensive documents like passports.
Reminder: noncitizen voting is already illegal and incredibly rare. This is about voter suppression, plain and simple.
Throughout history, waging war has always been part of the authoritarian playbook.
Donald Trumpβs war in Iran is the latest example. Watch.
Trump *is* doing debt cancellation.
It's just not your student or medical debts.
In his second term alone, Trump has already canceled $1.5 billion of criminal debt β payments fraudsters owe the federal government and victims.
They don't mind debt cancellationβfor themselves.
"For the next phase of my career, I look forward to some independence and finding new spaces to share my work in line with my personal goals."
Another CBS News journalist leaving and talking about independence. Bit of a not-so-subtle hint at what's happening over there.
While Trump is unleashing a war in the Middle East, do not lose sight of the cruelty being inflicted at home by this regime.

When Massachusetts passed a "millionaires tax" in 2023, conservatives claimed the rich would flee.
But two years later, they haven't β and MA has collected $5.7B for infrastructure and public education.
A reminder that positive change can still happen at the state level.
While we're talking about Live Nation/Ticketmaster's sweetheart antirust settlement, a reminder that it paid ZERO federal income tax last year on $145M in profitsβ largely due to Trump's tax cuts.
Trump works on behalf of the most powerful corporations.
Not you.
I'm back from a week off, anything happen while I was away?
Oh yeah, that. Well fortunately Naomi Bethune has supplied for me an entire history of U.S. intervention in Iran. Something to share with your underinformed friends:

As a result, stablecoins have grown to $300 billion in market value from roughly $20 billion in 2020. The Federal Reserve estimates they could be worth $3 trillion in five years. Because stablecoins use Treasuries as the primary collateral to create this cashlike safety, cryptocurrencies have effectively flooded into the Treasury market, the central artery of the U.S.-led global financial network. Stablecoin-issuing companies, like Circle and Tether, now hold more Treasury debt than major U.S. government creditors like Saudi Arabia and South Korea. Some experts fear that the next crypto crash could cascade into major losses for the highly sensitive short-term U.S. debt markets in which Treasuries predominate. The open question for regulators, bankers and the Trump administration is whether the growing centrality of the coins carries more upside or downside risks.
What could possibly go wrong?

Trump's DOJ just gave a slap-on-the-wrist settlement to LiveNation/Ticketmaster.
The deal doesn't break up the ticket monopoly, and comes after its lobbyists boasted about getting the DOJ's antitrust chief fired last month.
Trump's promise to fix a rigged economic system was always baloney.
So far the war on Iran has cost $9.4 billion.
That's $1 billion per day.
$41,666,667 per hour.
$11,574 per second.
Thousands of lives lost.
People don't want this. They want a living wage. They want healthcare. They want to be able to afford a home. They want their basic needs met.
Trump announced on Friday that there will be no deal with Iran βexcept UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!β
What the hell does this mean?
What will Trump demand of Iran for its βunconditional surrender?β https://robertreich.substack.com/p/office-hours-whats-unconditional
