I've just read "The River Has Roots". It's a short book but needs to consumed slowly because the prose is gorgeous and rich and light and heavy. It's a beautiful thing and when I got to the end I cried at the beauty of how it all came together. 10/10 hard recommend. Thank you @amalelmohtar.com
Things I love about living in Sheffield today... Independent optician - I highly recommend Birds, they've been brilliant from start to finish. The library - super helpful picking up my new library card. And the tram - folk voluntarily moving out of the priority seats.

I'm sad but slightly less surprised now that Nottingham city centre is struggling.
1/2 We've spent *hours* trying to book a table in Nottingham for 12 people on a Saturday evening for a party that includes coeliacs. We did leave it quite late but trying to get RSVPs takes time. I know business is hard but you need to let customers book! We had issues such as...

Had an amazing night out. Discovered a new band @thelongestjohns.bsky.social and they were supporting the ever-incredible Bellowhead. Both bands filled me with absolute joy - precision vocals and instrumentals and not forgetting the fun.
