We’re certainly leaving the door open to come back. We haven’t got a plan yet. But we’ll definitely be more motivated if the show actually ends.

Season 33 will go down as our 16th best season. Is the Simpsons back? No. It’ll never be back to classic era quality and anyone telling you otherwise is looking for clicks. But it has evolved & changed into a show that is at least better than it has been for a long time.
But the worst episode ever of 33 was the season finale “Poorhouse Rock” which is a musical about the fiscal cliff & class divide. An ill advised topic for the Simpsons to tackle and not even Hugh Jackman can save this episode from being a total cringe fest.
Also I feel like I should shout out “A Serious Flanders”. Look, we didn’t -love- it but a lot of people do & we certainly appreciate the ambition of the episode.
Honorable mentions go to “Pixelated & Afraid” where Marge & Homer get lost in the woods without their clothes. “Bart The Cool Kid” & “Girls Just Shauna Have Fun” both see the kids getting new friends & are pretty solid eps.
At equal 1st for our best ep of 33 is “Bart’s In Jail” where Grampa gets scammed out of money thinking he was helping get Bart out of jail. And “Lisa’s Belly” where Lisa & Marge work through body image issues. Both episodes bring big laughs & emotions and are well worth your time.
We have now finished reviewing Season 33 which scored an overall ranking of a Dull Bronze! This was the season that a lot of people would claim that “The Simpsons is BACK!”. Is that reputation justified? Let’s have a look… 🧵
