FROM ILLINOIS TO MINNESOTA: I.C.E IS A VIOLENT FORCE IN OUR COMMUNITIES
Today, ICE brutally murdered Renee Nicole Good on the streets of Minneapolis. Here in Illinois, we share our thoughts and extend our strength to Minnesotans who are reeling from this attack on their communities.

Today's violence by ICE and the MAGA regime shows the through-line between their operations in Illinois and Minnesota, as well as our communities' joint demands for accountability and justice.

ICE brings violence to our communities. Whether in Minneapolis, Chicago, or other cities across the country, ICE is the violent actor destabilizing our neighborhoods. They are a masked militia that does not belong in our communities.

ICE and DHS lie relentlessly. DHS's statement mirrors what they said about Marimar Martinez, and those charges were later dropped.

When ICE murdered Silverio Villegas Gonzalez, they attempted to spread lies about his past that were not backed up by facts.

ICE is unaccountable. Every day ICE is violating our constitutional rights, and their violence is a key feature of the Trump/MAGA regime.

They operate without transparency, without accountability, and with the intent to force compliance from our communities.

ICE remains in Illinois and elsewhere. While eyes are on Minnesotaas they should be, ICE continues to separate families here in Illinois.

We have confirmed sightings and abductions today on the southwest side of Chicago, and will continue to remain vigilant as ICE spreads fear in our neighborhoods.

We join the call for accountability and justice forour neighbors. We demand ICE out of Minnesota, ICE out of Illinois, and ICE out of EVERYWHERE

I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.

She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

A US citizen filmed federal agents smashing his car window, as authorities begin a surge of immigration enforcement operations in North Carolina.

The Honduran-born Charlotte resident filed a police report after the officers let him go.

If men with guns and masks tried to pull me out of my car, I'd fight back. Courts should reject any claims by the government that this is aggression by the person being detained, resisting arrest, or that they're a flight risk.

New Policy Bars Undocumented Immigrants From Many Health Services This Medical News article discusses new restrictions on access to HHS programs for undocumented immigrants and potential implications of the rule beyond the affected programs and communities.

Not to be forgotten, as the President now attempts to take over the Library of Congress:

He did something similar in February when he fired the Archivist of the US.

It's now three months later and counting, and he apparently has notified Congress of his reasons for doing so, as required by law. πŸ—ƒοΈ

A true scandal. One of the biggest free speech violations of our lifetimes and yet the people who screamed about free speech on campus for the past decade were either responsible for the violation (Trump, GOP) or ran cover for it and enabled it (Bari Weiss, Fox, etc).

Mahmoud Khalil’s Son Arrives After ICE Refuses to Let Him Attend Birth (Gift Article) Mr. Khalil, a permanent resident detained in Louisiana, had requested a monitored furlough for the birth. His request was denied in less than an hour.

NEW: Mahmoud Khalil's wife gave birth to their child without him after ICE denied their request to let him be present.

β€œThis was a purposeful decision by ICE to make me, Mahmoud, and our son suffer,” Dr. Abdalla said. β€œMy son and I should not be navigating his first days on earth without Mahmoud."

State Terror A brief guide for Americans

"the president defied a Supreme Court ruling to return a man mistakenly sent to a gulag... and spoke of sending Americans to foreign concentration camps.
This is the beginning of an American policy of state terror, and it has to be identified as such to be stopped"

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

We cannot allow this to be normalized or forgotten.

The United States Government has no legal authority to snatch a person who is lawfully present in the United States off the street and remove him from the country without due process. The Government's contention otherwise, and its argument that the federal courts are powerless to intervene, are unconscionable.
