some people see books as entertainment and other people see books as wily enemies to be humiliated, outfoxed, and defeated

about as much game as you can ever get for $4
I definitely hope the idea of the "double" did numbers, same for St. Pete with Trucks two weeks ago. That kind of thing is a lot more likely to get me to travel to a race weekend.
I have never been to a live race, I love IndyCar, and I live in northern VA, but I don't think I can go to this.

Only a Klingon warrior can save the Federation from total war! The new Star Trek novel THE FINAL REFLECTION John M. Ford
Torn on this one. The first chapter of the book, about a made-up chess with slaves acting out the moves, is among the worst in all the Star Trek writing I've read so far. The combination of a dozen new characters and extensive descriptions of a game that exists only in the author's mind is painful to get through. That part truly could have been five pages or less, or a different type of story that any normal human could connect with. The novel picks up as you get to know the main character and the pieces start moving that put things into a more familiar Star Trek place. Most of the middle is very entertaining, though it starts to go off the rails and get sort of cloudy again by the end. Ford envisioned a lot of good Klingon material considering that Star Trek III with Christopher Lloyd hadn't yet come out when it was written. But ultimately, this is a non-canon tie-in novel that is telling a story with zero characters that will ever appear again. It's effective at connecting you with Krenn and Tagore, but it's not effective at affecting you as a Star Trek story because none of your favorite characters are there doing their moves.

"Star Trek" in the loosest sense, as the entire book takes place decades before TOS with none of the characters you know.
imagine going back to high school and going to prom and stuff *after* you got Aaron Judge to ground into a bases loaded double play

We're living now
I'm getting that PS2 memory card that lets you play games off of it via SD card in the mail today and I went to look up how to set it up and it's so many steps. I mean I get it, but, also, could it be less steps, instead of more?

the train literally stopped on a Nazi planet in this episode
I think the Galaxy Express 999 should simply not stop at all these backwards, dangerous planets that have very little chance of somebody boarding or disembarking. It's too risky for the dumbass kid that's riding on the train.
"I bought another Super Nintendo. I wonder how many I've bought so far? I used to play when I was still active, but I was busy with matches and didn't have time. One of my dreams was to buy a white house with a view of the ocean after I retired and play games all day. I'm starting to do that now. First of all, I'll play Final Fantasy, but I also want to play Mario World and Sim Earth. I need a CRT TV."
True pro wrestling legend Bull Nakano: lol I bought another Super Famicom today.
I am watching Bull Durham for the first time (somehow, in 2026, at age 40) and cursing the ghost of Orion Pictures for selling commercial tapes recorded in EP to save 10 cents.
