So while i understand all these ‘tailor your CV and cover letter’ speech, i think recruiter often forget that candidate spends time applying for jobs without knowing whether it is a real job or a ghost posting. ‘Being genuine’ really start being tiring when you are on 150th application.
It is interesting to read this. I am based in Italy and lately almost postdoc calls ask for a research proposal. I would spend a couple of days to churn out a semi-decent proposal each time on top of CV and cover letter. And guess what? More often than not the position actually does not exist.
Hey, i have been looking at this but unsure to apply. Is the survey experience mandatory? I worked for a country team for EU-wide data (SHARE) but i am not sure it counts as survey experience.
I am starting early with job hunting thanks to my innate immigrant’s resident permit anxiety. Naturally I look for an econ research position, but the more I see into it, the more tempted I am to reorient myself to be a family demographer? I mean people are nicer 😬
