They can do a lot to mess with your head creatively…especially when we get into the zone of imposter syndrome, etc. But it’s good to remember that the fact your music is out there and being listened to (even if just by one person) is a huge win

Gorgeous looking game at first glance! I’m excited to see more and hear what you’ve written!

The reason I made this post last night is because of a conversation I saw happening. In it, game devs were talking about how composers don't play games they are working on. The reasons ranged a bit, some going so far as to say composers aren't gamers so having them play the game is pointless. 🧵

Oh that’s fair. If it wasn’t an issue I’d play the game. Whether or not it ended up making a difference it definitely wouldn’t hurt. When composing for a game you have to use every opportunity to immerse yourself in it so might as well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m late to the party but….i rarely play the games but I insist on screen captures and a detailed explanation of the story. That’s usually enough for me to get the vibe and create something that matches

I love the bassoon. It legit may be my favorite instrument. I know it sounds intimidating here but I promise they’re cool.
