Iran's ceasefire demands basically read like a call for surrender. Iran may have the leverage to "mean it," but there's no way in hell Trump will agree to it no matter the cost. Iran probably knows that, too.

Now, I'm not one given to conspiracy theories, but given all the current circumstances and Trump's jingoistic posturing towards Canada, I can't be the only one that thinks this smells kinda like a setup to give Trump an excuse to invade over national security concerns and claiming we started it.
Iran has now mined the strait. This is flat-out stupidity and arrogance, and unfortunately is par for the course for Trump. He only ever flies by the capacious seat of his skidmarked pants. No thoughts of consequences or exit plans whatsoever. And now there are mines in a critical shipping lane.
First thing I thought of. "Why does that look kinda like my electric razor?"
The Southern Bellend has gone full jingoist. Quite a change from his infamous 2016 tweet which read, "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it."
You absolutely deserve it, Blanche. You and your entire party.
It's not just fine with the GOP, it's what the GOP *wants*.
Poor people not only have a harder time fighting back against the system, they are more likely to *vote* for the GOP if the GOP can promise them a better life, *even though* they have done that before and did the opposite.
David is absolutely right here that Propaganda Pierre just has no idea how to act like a human being, and every time he tries, it's embarrassing and cringeworthy. He's like a Canadian JD Vance in that regard.
His question period antics, too, just keep taking his poll numbers, and rightly so.
Interim NDP leader Don Davies' response to Lori Idlout crossing the floor to the Liberal party was to exclaim that floor crossers like this should be forced into a by-election, and while this may sound reasonable on the surface, it's not at all how our government works. Here's a good explainer why.
Looks like we have another floor-crosser to the Liberals, this time from the NDP party, which now puts Carney within two seats of a majority government again. Unfortunately, the interim NDP leader's response was ... bad, which I'll talk about in the next post.
Fred certainly does hold back.
I do support Markwayne Moron in one thing though: Please do go and expose yourself to enemy fire.
I think she's had so much skin tightening that her brain is ready to catapult out her mouth.
Yeah, that's pretty much it. Doug was always about trying to follow the old British idiom, "Only fools and horses work." That's why he sold drugs. Easy (if risky) money. Now he's doing it as the premier of Ontario, though he's having to actually do work sometimes.
I kind of have to agree. It was weird at the time, but while I initially joined in with the derision and memes and jokes, there came a point where I actually started feeling just a little sorry for the guy, because it felt like he had been pushed into spiralling out of control.
With Trump, it's more like huevos diminutos.
Habba is done grammar good.
Trump *has* cojones (allegedly, I have no desire for proof), but he's *in* cahoots. With Putin.
I can't say that I feel persecutedβright-wingers love to throw shade at us every chance they get and call US the crazy ones, the nutjobs. But I know Cons are master projectionists, so it just makes me roll my eyes and sigh wearily. My polling station is just up the road, so I have no excuses.
I'm inclined to think that, yes, Doug probably did feed into his brother's issues as a means to control from behind the scenes. It's possible, too, that feeding into his addiction could have contributed to the cancer that ultimately killed him. Doug always was the evil one.
Yeah, no shit. War is profitable for the already-wealthy, but, outside of the soldiers on the front lines, the average citizens are the ones who pay the price at home, and this couldn't be happening at a worse time.
I don't disagree in the slightest. Conservatives vote because they have a persecution complex, and voting "their" guy into office lets them feel powerful, superior. Liberals, however, are often either to apathetic or too fearful that their votes won't matter. That needs to change dramatically.
Rob was the architect of his own downfall. The crack, the racist rants, the cringy attempts to speak in patois, the furious denials, these scandals invited all of the scorn and derision he received. Doug probably wouldn't even be premier if he hadn't turned Rob's infamy into brand recognition.
I swear, Ford wants to completely ruin the Toronto waterfront. First he wants to turn the former site of Ontario Place into some sort of goddamn giant spa, now he wants to add massive amounts of noise pollution to the Toronto islands.
You COULD say that. You'd sound like a complete moron who hasn't the slightest idea what he's doing or saying, but you could say it.
Gee, ya think, Rand? BiBi has only been saying Iran is moments away from nuclear bombs for over a quarter century, hoping some gullible leader would take the bait and help him bomb Iran. Then Useful Idiot Trump comes along and swallows it whole.
And now we're here. Do the math.
This quote is 21 years old, its relevance come round again.
Alberta schools have been ordered to pull 160 books from school libraries.
The most ironic thing about this is that they're pulling graphic novel versions of 1984 and The Handmaid's Tale, both dystopian stories about excessive government control.
The guilty always hide behind shrill cries to punish those who did what they themselves have done.
You know what they say about shoe size as it correlates to a certain other body part?
Marco's trynna false advertise.
I wonder if there's a link between this and the boycott of American booze?
Rep. Kevin Kiley is now leaving the Republican party and going independent, effective immediately, because he's sick of the partisanship and gerrymandering. I mean, I can think of a few other things he should be sick of, too, but ... it's a start.
Now Republicans have just a 1-vote majority. Aww...
A good message for the MAGAts who are now fleeing hte movement and seeking solace in the arms of the left now that everything is falling apart: No. Fuck you. You don't get to ask us to save you after you spent a decade dehumanizing us. It's your bed, and your shit all over it. Now lay in it.
