And this ties into the motivation for a lot of these new people streaming switching over time from "I wanna stream because it's fun and maybe I'll make some friends after a while" to "I wanna be the next big streamer because $$$" obviously it's never that easy/simple 😂

Well it doesn't help that awhile back it was found out that twitch didn't count non active chatters in it's metrics. So a lot of these folks purely motivated by that viewer count will be acutely aware that lurkers aren't benefitting them as much 🤷
I'm not sure if this was ever actually fixed either.

You're onto something there. Younger gens are so much more reliant on validation from online content.
That nephew of mine has a bloody tiktok account and all of his "content" is based on baiting out engagement. It's painfully cringe 😅 ima find a way of saving it all and show him when he's older 👀😂

Ah ok so it seems like your priming is crucial to getting a good depth of colours with these then? Almost a bit like using contrast/speedpaints.
I airbrush primer and zenithal highlight my figs so theoretically that should suit me 🤔👍

Any of my painter friends ever dabble with acrylic marker pens for their minis? Am tempted to grab a set and give them a go, seems a really accurate way to do edge lighting and highlights 🤷.

Haha! It's such a unique look afterall, maybe try your nuln as you mentioned and then if your not happy with a single coat you can always mix your own wash for a second goat if you wanna bring more colour in afterwards 🤔

Nuln will deffo mute the brightness but won't do a lot to show any kinda grottyness or wear. 'n' tear. Totally depends what your aiming for though. If I ever get round to doing a breachers team I'd want them looking really grim, a bit like a big daddy from bioshock if you've ever played it.

Maybe try an agrax wash over the void suit to dull the tone plus make it look weathered and dirty? 🤷

In a bit of a competition with a friend of mine, both printing the same mini and painting it up and comparing when we've finished.
Very happy with mine so far, still gotta do the boots and a bit of tidy up, but I'm already onto thinking about how to base him 🤔
