Goals for 2026:
- stop being a gremlin
- become an actual functioning human being
- do something
- anything
- get back into art/langs/dming/hobbies
- literally anything at all
- uhhh
- idk
- life is hard
I gotta do some goals for 2026 I think uhhh
(yeah ik I'm a week late for new years resolutions but isn't it a thing you're more likely to succeed if you start late or sth? Sure I've read that somewhere..)
I have a long-running list of surprising eponyms, and in this dark time I wish to share my amusement with you.
To clarify, an eponym is something named for a person. βNewtonβs Lawsβ are called that for Isaac Newton. A surprising eponym is just that.
So, letβs begin.

It would be so, so funny if 2025 turns out to be good.
Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.
βRespairβ, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.
Hereβs to a few drops of respair in 2025.

Random language generator says no
Considering adding a random language just for January ngl. Seems like a bad idea on the surface (too many languages!) but I did a one month dabble once with Korean and it was super fun & interesting. Might be the spark I need to get back into things.
I have been doing nothing for like 3 months now aaaa
2025 goals: actually get back into learning my TLs bc it's been months since I did any regular study. Also read the mountain of books I've amassed on my shelves. Also art. Also--
all these new years celebration cancellations are probably some kind of omen tbh buckle up people 2025 is gonna be a bad one
update just walked past a guy washing his feet in the airport bathroom sink
the austrian border police guy was real weird about my stamps like "you stayed that long? but you already stayed a month in germany" like dude i'm within my schengen limit and also i'm leaving so what's it to you
A poem by Langston Hughes titled "Tired". It reads as the following: "I am so tired of waiting, Aren't you, For the world to become good And beautiful and kind? Let us take a knife And cut the world in two -- And see what worms are eating At the rind."
I've been thinking about this poem by Langston Hughes recently and although it was published in 1931, it remains relevant as ever.
